Elsa England Elementary has been an incredible experience for our family. Our first year had a few hiccups so I waited for the 3rd year to finish to give a fair review.
The environment is warm, welcoming, andmost importantlysafe. Principal Williams ensures there is a visible police presence during drop-off and pick-up, and she keeps families informed through timely email updates about any safety-related incidentswhether it's a suspicious person spotted nearby or something as routine as a water leak.
Principal Williams is phenomenal. Shes approachable, communicative, and clearly respected by both staff and families. There was an incident at school that frightened our daughter, and Principal Williams responded immediately, even arranging counseling support to help her feel safe and heard. As a parent, its a huge relief to know your child is being cared for not just academically, but emotionally and socially as well. Her passion is evident as she leads with both heart and integrity, creating a school culture rooted in care and excellence.
The teachers are equally outstandingnurturing, creative, and deeply committed to their students growth, particularly Ms. Brooks and Ms. Cho! They go above and beyond to build strong relationships and create engaging, meaningful learning experiences.
Due to some ongoing medical issues, I havent been able to volunteer as much as I would have liked. That said, one of the things I deeply appreciate about Elsa England is its incredibly engaged parent community. Families here are actively involved, and there are always parents volunteering, supporting events, and partnering with staff to create a vibrant school experience. It truly feels like a collaborative village.
The campus itself is beautiful and well-maintained, with clean, modern facilities that reflect the pride the community takes in the school.
If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be the school website. At times, it can be difficult to navigate or find up-to-date information, which often leads me to reach out to staff for clarification. A clearer, more user-friendly website would make things easier for parents and reduce the number of inquiries staff receive.
We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of Elsa England.

All teachers my children have are very caring and dedicated educators. The new principal is responsible and responsive, answers my emails and resolves issues quickly. We don't have any issues of Bully. The academic is strong. Overall, this is a good school.

This school has disappointed me. I brought my son to this school for a safe, supportive learning enviroment and learned the harsh truth. Teachers and the upper management of this school couldn't care less about students and their academic progress. Since there is very little teacher intervention, students at this school like my son have grown to be very hyperactive, always pulling other students' hair and slapping them when given negative feedback or just for no reason. I will not be sending my son to this school anymore, and with the new school year, we have noticed that Patsy Sommer, just down the road, seems like a much better learning environment for my son. Please think twice before sending your child to this school.

Easily one of the best schools i have enrolled my kid in and i love how engaged they are. They look forward to going to school daily and are education is even very well managed. they teach the kids in class and give them time to actually practice and learn on their own. Other schools i had to always help my kids but here not the case tey are super busy and love it. Great school!!

Great. No major complains so far. My oldest graduated from Elementary and is doing well in Middle.

The teachers don't believe in homework which is fine because they cover a whole deal at school.

England Elementary is truly one of the best in the Austin metro area. It has outstanding teachers who care about their students, administrators who make decisions in the best interests of the children, and a very diverse student body whose parents are passionate about education. My 3 children of varying ages have all excelled beyond grade level expectations because this school raises the bar for public education. The school is in an area of explosive growth, and has successfully managed the challenges that come along with growing by 100 or more students a year. RRISD is an outstanding district and England Elementary is one of its shining stars!

We have some great teachers and one was just okay but what do you expect- it's life. Overall the faculty is top notch.
Posted: February 22, 2017
Thank goodness they have backed off on some of the homework for younger kids though for parents who want homework there are lots of guidelines of things to do at home.

Love this school. My kids have been here since kindergarten and it is a great school with awesome faculty who truly care. It's a relatively new school so there have been some hiccups here and there but I think the school has really found it's groove and my kids are happy and learning a ton. Does it get any better than that?

Both my sons went to Elsa last year and we were not very happy with the experience. My kids have not learnt much in any areas through the school year. The communication from the teacher to the parent is poor. During parent teacher conferences comments from the teacher were vague and did not really add much value on the progress being made by the child. School uses a lot of video time, before school, by substitute teachers etc. The school functions are not very organized either. More interest and attention from the teachers, better communication with parents, videos reduced will help better the school. Overall not happy and we have now moved out to another school district instead.

My daughter has made no progress here.. Her teacher has a disproportionate amount of special needs kids which takes away from the rest of the class. Another issue is they will not evaluate children until 2nd grade, unless your child has bad behavior issues. So if a child is struggling, but a good kid there is no help. I informed the school my daughter was being bullied. They said they would monitor it. Guess who they seated her with on the field trip bus the little girl that has been bullying her! I visited at lunch and watched as kids are ignored or snapped at. They seem understaffed there. I observed the playground --teachers were eating lunch and chatting , when kids come up to them they are waved off, not listened to and told to go play. There was little supervision on the yard. The PTA begs for help, but when you volunteer they demand more than you have time to give & make you feel guilty when you have to say no. The school uses too much video time- before school, during the day, when substitutes come in, etc. My hope for next year: Better communication, bullying issues addressed, videos replaced with teaching and a staff that cares.

This school should not be a "10". As a few other parents have mentioned, there is little communication, not well run afterschool clubs, the PTA is rumored to be folding from no one attending (I cannot attend because of the times the meetings are held so I can't say for sure but having only 1 or 2 parents ever show up is not good...) Parents are not very welcome on campus, functions are poorly run and as far as education- which should be the most important aspect- is really not that great. My child has not learned much of anything in the whole school year. When I ask what happened at school it is more play and games and not really any lessons. Even in art or music- they don't do art or music- they play games. Overall we are not happy here and hope next year will be better.

We are very happy with this school after moving here from another area of town. All of our kids' teachers send a lot of information about what the class is doing and are very quick to respond to emails even during their busy day. The previous reviewers who say the parents are not involved obviously have not taken advantage of the many parent volunteer-led programs (Chess Club, several UIL Academic teams, Math Pentathlon, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Destination Imagination, and probably others).

We are so disappointed in this school. We moved here from out of state and from previous reviews had great expectations- but none of those were met. The teachers and staff do NOT communicate with parents at all. The bullying that goes on at this school is constant and terrible and when you try to talk to the school about it you will be met with "kids are kids" and that it really isn't an issue. They are not concerned with coming up with a solution to fix things. My child's teacher has never made an effort to communicate with us. Classroom expectations are very low and I don't feel like my child has learned anything this year. The homework is pointless and doesn't relate at all to what is going on in class- although hard to know what happens in class since no work comes home from school to see what is being done... School clubs are very poorly organized and also there is a lack of communication with parents so they are not very successful. Overall it is a huge disappointment and we look forward to changing schools soon.

What a great school, wonderful structure, great teachers! Our son has been attending this school since 2013 when we moved to Austin, the improvement over his last school in Kingwood, TX was astonishing.

This school is the best school ever. Teachers are nice and great. Academically organized and prepared . No need to say anything about new clean building .

This school is awesome. when it started, I was worried how it would compare to Patsy Sommer but it has exceeded all my expectations. My son loves going to school every day. The teachers are awesome. The Project Based Learning is a great concept that they are teaching. They keep parents informed and take deep interest in any concerns you might have. School also uses new technologies. all kids in my son's class had a netbook (small laptop). when he showed me he created a powerpoint presentation in 2nd Grade, I was impressed. Overall, very happy.

Elsa England is an exceptionally good school. It has a great and the most dedicated principal( Ms. Stowe), sweetest and the most efficient front office staff( Ms. Tony, Ms. Patty and Ms. Christa), the warmest counselor ( Ms. Martha), the most lovable and caring school nurse ( Ms. Michelle) , the ever popular PE coach( Mr. Di Carlo and welcome Mr. Shore), the most talented music teacher(Ms. Bray), the most artistic art teacher ( Mrs. West) and a whole family of the best-est teachers who will floor you with their dedication towards the students. What better can you ask for as a parent when it comes to the educational well being of our kids? We bought a house in the same neighborhood to be able to stay in the same school and because our kids refused to move out ! Doesn't that say something about the school. I must say that this school is truly special because you name it and this school has it all!!! Keep it up Elsa England team!!!!

Elsa England s an excellent school. The teachers go above and beyond to connect to the children. There are several extra academic programs and opportunities for all ages.
