Rolling Meadows Elementary School

My son has attended this school for 3 years. In that time, he has grown so much in both academics and in social emotional areas. His teachers have always been great at communicating with me about his progress and giving tips/strategies to help at home. Staff members have always kept him safe and he’s always been happy to go to school. We think this is a wonderful school!

Teachers are so nice and caring. Between my 3 kids, we’ve been there for 10 years. Never had a problem.

HORRIBLE the teachers are so rude and a boy has touched my daughters ex friend in a way she did not want to be touched.
The homework caused my daughter depression.she does not get any help from her teachers and does not get the best help from me because I don’t speak english very good and she is always stressed or crying

Because of a teacher going maternity leave, my son's grades were not entered for a month. I had to call the principal to find out what was going on. Basically, the whole class was on vacation for 2 months. My son said the class did what they wanted and they were reviewing the 4 th grade. There was no homework.

My son went to a charter school before coming here and has always had a competitive spirit on keeping his grades up. He went from honor roll student to b and c student. The teachers seem disorganized. Teachers will pass a student with missing assignments with 70 percent. 2 months after it was due. Take over tests are passed with 70 percent. They are just passing students so there grade book is satisfactory and the school gets the federal compensation.

Very poor experience. My son seems to be slipping academically this year. The teachers don't seem to challenge students but just push them along. They certainly don't challenge them in the reading department or hold them accountable. Terrible school. Will be looking elsewhere for next year.

Parking is very difficult and the staff has approached this incorrectly. In the mornings, there are more buses in the parking lot near the cafeteria yet we as parents can go into parking lot to drop off our students. Yet in the afternoons the parking lot is blocked, while there are less buses than in the morning. Having the parents park out on the street is more of a hazard for our kids to walk on. I’d rather my vehicle have a ding on it, than my child getting hit by a vehicle for some irresponsible driver on the street. I hope that the leadership reconsiders this in order for our kids to be safer as they leave school.

We like how the homework assigned to the students also has the parents interacting and being involved with their learning.

Overall I have enjoyed this school. Homework is not too difficult. Although in my daughter's 1st grade class the teacher up and quit last minute, my daughter was still able to get through just fine. They have done well with teaching my child and I am sad we are moving.
