My school is wonderful. The students become like a family and you get recess even in high school! The staff cares about the students.

LEANDER CHARTER ACADEMY! New charter school in Leander, Tx! What can I say, it is AWESOME! Our son started 1st grade here this year and just loves it. I highly recommend this school to anyone, especially if you want an awesome education for your child. The Saxon reading and math program is THE BEST, hands down! Highly educated and caring teachers. Exactly what you want for your children. Couldn't be happier:) - super satisfied parents to a really bright and lucky little boy - super happy parents and child:)

I love HCA.. I remember last summer not having peace with my girls going to public school. HCA was an answer to my prayers. While some parents may be worried about the starr test or the school's ratings I am not. I am worried about my children's spiritual life and their character. I now have all 4 of my girls going and will continue to go there.

Heritage has been a wonderful school for my son. Their self-paced approach to student learning is exactly the way education should be delivered.

My school WAS good in my opinion. It featured self-paced learning, which I though was rather sweet. But that's about as far as it went. There was only one teacher for 9th-12th grade, which was fine since how small the school was, but I had to find some of my friends for help when I had trouble with my paks instead of the teacher. But a while after I found god and science mixed up with my science work faaarrr to frequently then I though is legal, I decided to be a bit more sceptical. It turned out that, for 9th grade at least, our work did NOT prepare us for the STAAR testing, if Texas is anyone to trust about that, as a quarter of my friends failing grades had shown. Although maybe it was less about that below par Paks and more about the one good teacher they fired not being around anymore. And being replaced by a non certified principle who "taught" the class. My parents were less then thrilled about that. Anways I decided to try public schooling again after that. APARENTLY there ARE programs that are self-study ish at my highschool that no one told me about. People should look into that before checking out charter schools. Really. -P.S., this school is in a church

I'm a parent of a special education student. For the FIRST time in his scholastic career I feel like he actually LEARNED something this past year. Public school just pushes kids through Sped courses. At HCA they actually go back and fill in all those learning gaps left by public "education". As a single parent it is such a relief to have the one-on-one support from their Sped Teacher. She really cares about what the kids learn and works to help them better themselves so that they can have a positive outlook for their future.

This school is great, if you want to force your children to get half of their biblical reading from their science work. If not, then maybe you would like test scores which are lower then most public schools. If that doesn't appeal to you, then perhaps the lack of comprehensible student-teacher interaction, unnecessarily harsh punishments, and a complete and utter lack of any significant college preparation more to your liking. Needless to say, I'm ending my involvement with this particular "school", if that's what you would call this government funded establishment.

Heritage Charter Academy offers exactly the one-on-one attention and self-paced environment that my third grader needed. Refreshingly disciplined, friendly, and sincere administrators and teachers make the learning environment outstanding - better than the private academy we left. I would recommend the school to my nearest and dearest.
