I am a senior going to MECHS! It has been such a journey. This school has been so supportive of everything. They encourage you to strive, be creative, and take initiative. Even if you are struggling mentally there are so many resources to use whether it be from the actual college associated AKA Northeast Lakeview or from the amazing counselors from the high school. If you are falling behind they help you from a plan to stay on track. It is something you have to work towards and stay focused on. It can be stressful however, it is worth it in the end. I told myself from freshman year that I wouldnt be able to make it, but here I am in my 12th year. If given the opportunity take it.
Youre not obligated to win. Youre obligated to keep trying to do the best you can every day. Marian Wright Edelman

I think this school is a very good opportunity to get ahead in college! I am currently a 10th grader, and I have been here since the first day of 9th grade! Currently I am taking a COLLEGE class at St.Phillips (sociology). The school provided a FREE college book that i can take home adn use for the class. The cool thing about this school is the 10 computers and 10 ipads in EVERY class room. This school is amazing and the students interact wonderfully! The staff is beyond amazing and ALWAYS willing to help no matter what. We have tons of clubs and opportunities to do any extra-curricular activies. All pre-ap classes, but tutoring always avaliable to ANY one if strgguling. If you are looking into this school DEFFINATLY apply and go to the interview. This school is beyond amazing and full of advantages!

This is a wonderful school. I have seen where another parent put that this is a discipline center. This is absolutely not true. These kids have to apply to get into Alamo while they are in the 8th grade, and cannot enter unless they started in the 9th grade. If you have been in trouble, you cannot go to this school. I think (hope) that the parent was confuse because the discipline center is next door. Rest assured that this is a wonderful school. As a high school sophomore, my daughter is taking two dual-credit courses and one college course already, and it costs us NOTHING. It is a wonderful idea that is being carried out very well.
