My child reported that a group of students directed racist slurs toward her. She informed both teachers and staff, yet no appropriate action was taken. This lack of response is deeply concerning and does not reflect a safe or respectful school environment.

Additionally, when my child attempted to explain the situation, a teacher dismissed her account without fully listening. I am also concerned about front office staff discouraging my child from calling home when she reported feeling unwell, insisting she was not sick.

These incidents demonstrate a lack of accountability and professionalism. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and addressed promptly to ensure my child’s safety, well-being, and right to be heard.

My child went to this school for about half the year when it first opened. I soon became very disappointed in how things were going. I liked that it was small class sizes and thought my child would do great in a small setting, but there was no PE really, and my child said that the teacher did not even really teach. They did packets all day long. My first red flag was that we were not even told there would be uniforms until a week before school started and I had already bought my child new school clothes. I was told there would be after school program but that never materialized. My child got in trouble for the most ridiculous things. And the principal even carried a paddle in his back pocket with holes in it that had a name and all the kids knew what it was for. That was scary in and of itself. I felt that it was very unorganized and there was not very good communication between the staff. I definitely think it needs better leadership and better communication between the staff and the superintendent.

I chose this school because of the size, the fact that preK was half day and was told every child works at their own pace and no child was held back from exceeding. But soon I was extremely disappointed. PreK through 1st didn't apply to exceeding at their own pace. I later found out that there was one master PreK teacher who made the lesson plans for all of the Priority Charter Schools to include this one. So regardless where my child was, there was no deviating from the plan. His teacher never had answers to questions we had, there were constant last minute changes that we weren't always notified of until the day it happened. They went on one field trip the entire school year. The teacher seemed clueless, like she was waiting to be told what to do next. My child was taken out in below freezing temps for PE and the directors response when I called with concern was "My bad." This school needs a lot of work. A director with more experience is a start. Teachers need to make their own lesson plans as they are the one's with the children. They know where they are excelling and what they need more focus on. How can someone make lesson plans who isn't even there?
