This school offers a great atmosphere with teachers that truly care about their students. My children have been going there for many years and the curriculum is rigorous but the teachers support their students. This is a great small school that supports and loves kids.

This school was not for my daughter at all. She attended 1st and half of 2nd before we pulled her out. The packs were not challenging her in any way and she was bored out of her mind and because of that started slacking off and not getting them done at all unless supervised by me at home. She spent most of her time waiting to be called up to the answer key to check her work. This might work for some kids but not gifted students with ADD. She's definitely more interested in hands on school work than doing worksheets all day. Staff was nice enough, but just really wasn't for us.

I'm not a spelling snob, like the last. I completely agree with two reviews down. I care about finding out about the quality of a school more then caring about a few spelling errors a parent made. I am glad to see that I was not the only parent that noticed many errors with the school packs. The school is not challenging at any level. Well, it wasn't for my child. But, It may be okay for children that do not like a challenge. This is the reason why we pulled our child from this school. Between the pack errors, little help from the teacher other than telling kids to get online to Khan Acadmeny to learn, and as my spouse stated paste-eating easy school packs. I know better schools are out there, this is not one of them!

First off, the person who wrote the below review needs to learn how to spell. Second, Leander Charter Academy has been wonderful for our children and I have no complaints so far. The packs are pretty advanced and very challenging.

Poorly ran school. First, students of employees here get the clear "look the other way" to misbehave. That being said most to many students here with continued behavior issues have NO consequences for their bad behavior. This school has a sex problem with a very small group that likes to make noises, say things and touch other students that don't want to be touched! The principle WILL NOT handle it properly or completely. It is so much of a problem that an email was sent out to all parents on 10/29/14, but with no student follow up. This first half is bad enough but now about the curriculum. The student packs are filled with errors. Even the grading book has error on what is wrong and right. Not sure about elementary packs but middles school on up have multiple errors. Math examples that are just completely wrong. Misspelled words in English and Science. Punctuation errors in the punctuation section in English. Plus when you child is done with the pack, they turn it in and it is gone. Forget if your child needs to look back after serval months at some math problems they need to remember how to rework or writing a paper and wants to double check punctuation rules they learned.

We started this school this year and I cannot believe how wonderful it is! We moved here from California this past summer. My 8th grader had gone to a charter school there and my youngest (3rd grader) as well. Both have adapted very well with the transition. It is very challenging I have to admit, however the staff is so sweet and very encouraging to our children. Mrs. Kelsey is such a great Principal and has really helped our children feel comfortable and adapt. If you want challenging for your children but with more of a self-paced program style then this is the school for your kids. Very pleased with this school and their academic program!

Not happy with the curriculum. Many mistakes in the packets. Bullies are not dealt with. Certain students are above discipline no matter their poor choice. I would not subject any child to that kind of environment.
