You have to be “the right kind of disabled” to be accepted by the headmaster, Austin Clow. After meeting with Austin, he rejected my son and did not have the decency to tell us directly, he had his secretary do it.

They have ZERO training. They have ZERO SAFETY DRILLS. They are about making money that is it. They send you to voicemail and never answer questions. Multiple families have taken their kids out of the school.

They made over a million dollars last year but still ask for donations, while they have a sign saying they charge double for snacks outside lunch hours. The owner /dean is very passive-aggressive. The program is built on something but unfortunately, they will not share it with you. The teachers do not have a special ed degree except for one, who doesn't have her name listed.

BEST choice I've EVER made for my daughter!!! They are my miracle!!!!! I've been seeking psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, specialists, counselors, MANY different school options, etc for the last 5 years and I NEVER saw any changes in my daughter. My daughter has been diagnosed with dyslexia, anxiety, sensory, high functioning autism, visual perspectual disparity. After 2 days at this school, my daughter transformed!! In addition, she was EXCITED and WANTED to go back to school!!!! What makes this school different is they focus on gaining the kids trust and help them socially feel comfortable before they start pushing the curriculum. Special needs kids won't learn until they trust their teacher and feel safe. Also, there's 1:1 teaching

I've got two kids-both on opposite sides of the educational spectrum. My older child has ADHD (inattentive) and is brilliant. He struggled in public school which emphasized conformity and uniformity instead of cultivating his intellect. He regularly struggled with relating to his peer group and had teachers that felt threatened by his intellect. This was bad and led to his having increased anxiety and low academic performance. His younger brother is on the Autism spectrum has ADHD (hyperactive) and struggles with language (reading and comprehension). He was in special education in public school and required one-to-one assistance with his academics that the public school would not accommodate, despite years of advocacy on our part. As such, he was passing (on paper) but was completely unable to comprehend the content being taught.

Then we found Clowvazar. From the start, Headmaster Austin was informative and direct. At our school tour, he discussed the differences between the Clowvazar approach and that of traditional public schools, especially as it pertains to kiddos with special needs (gifted and neurodiverse). He put us in touch with other parents (who work in local public schools) who send their kids to Clowvazar and had seen massive improvements in everything from academics to social skills to language expression since sending their kids to this school. We knew immediately it was the place for our younger son. It took some time, but eventually, we gave the school a try with our older, gifted son. BOTH DECISIONS WERE HANDS DOWN THE BEST EDUCATIONAL DECISIONS WE COULD HAVE MADE FOR THEM. The positive changes we have seen in their demeanor, behavior, confidence, academics, and across the spectrum of experiences that are usually gleaned when a child is in school are immeasurable. Our youngest is excelling academically (comprehending!), and our older son is thriving in his curriculum and extra-curricular pursuits. Both have gained friendships, a newfound sense of confidence, and a sense of community and belonging. The Clowvazar Academy school, staff, and model really provide an individual and unique experience that is tailored in such a way that kiddos can actually grow and be themselves while learning academics and life skills. All of this while learning how to be a part of (and benefiting from) an inclusive and accepting community of diverse teachers and students across varying intellectual, emotional, and behavioral spectrums. 100% HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Very effective they take the time to figure out how each student learns, and then work with that individually.

Headmaster Austin is amazing as well as all staff. They will all take time to help and spend as much time needed to implement a plan for each individual child based on his or her requirements. There is no judgment in this school not only from teachers and headmaster Austin, but from the students themselves. Everyone really accepts everyone with no judgment's no bulling or any ugliness. I love That my son comes home and never has that sad look in his eyes anymore.

The teachers know each student's needs and each student's issues. They work based on the individual student that's why I love this school! The teachers are amazing the staff learn everything about your child, how they learn, how they deal with issues, and never label your child. My son went to three different public schools before coming to clowvazar. At each one the entire staff didn't take the time to even begin to understand my child, they automatically labeled him a BAD KID which he absolutely is not! My son has gone from wanting to commit suicide at 12 years old and
complaining every day to enjoying school and flourishing socially at school and at home. To me that's what teachers are supposed to do help students not label them. I read a review about Headmaster Austin wearing shorts and a t shirt every day. What seems to be the problem with this? If you are judging a school by how the owner dresses well you defiantly don't belong there. Headmaster Austin is the disciplinary figure at the school so his job is much more stern vs others which anyone with common sense should understand. I'm sorry so far this has been an argument I'm having against one parents review. It really made me angry because Headmaster Austin would do anything to help a child or parent, and he has for me personally. He's kind, understanding, and yes he has to be stern with the kids it's his job. I guess you would've had to have gone through the things me and my son have to truly appreciate his kindness and understanding Sir. During the Covid-19 lockdown the entire staff were amazing. Headmaster Austin set up his website to become an online school within days. There were emails sent to each parent explaining how to use the portal and do the assignments. They also had Zoom appointments for socializing and tutoring. There was not anything that are kids missed during the stay at home orders. They have also implemented a safe a scheduled way for the kids to go back to school. Its absolutely amazing what the all did during this Pandemic, and are currently doing to keep all the teachers and students safe. I couldn't ask for a better leadership then clowvazar Academy.

Never take your child there! It was the biggest mistake I did.

Posted: February 6, 2020

Don't put your child their. It's sounds so perfect online but they don't meet the expectations. 3 weeks you go to school one week off and all year around school. My child is way behind. The teacher don't have the credit I also to be teachers since it's private. And the head master/ owner when you meet him he tells you I am sorry I am not properly dress, I didn't expect you today. But he where shorts everyday and a tshirt. His attitude in this school is horrible. He yells at the kids when parents are picking up there kid. Oh and when you drop them off in the morning the teacher is not always there so they tell a student to wait in her class room until she comes!!

I definitely would recommend Clowvazar Academy to anybody who has a child that learns differently. My child is developmentally delayed and they work well with her! My kid has made so much progress. Their staff is wonderful. Mr Austin, the headmaster, has created an amazing school.

The teacher's are easy to talk to and approach. The teachers understand that a stressful atmosphere is not conducive to learning.

Posted: May 21, 2015

The homework given, is appropriate because their education is determined individually. The teacher's want to see success, not discouragement.

Posted: May 21, 2015

The staff treats each student and issue in a respectful manner. The staff does not demand respect and this is why they have earned it from the students they teach.

Clowvazar Academy has been able to apply an IEP, to my son. They believe in placing students in classes that match his abilities. My son has been able to grow academically because he is not lost in the back of a classroom. All of the students needs are met on an individual basis. The staff is young, but incredibly passionate in their jobs to make a difference in each students life. Like each school, issues will occur. However, being able to address a concern with any of the staff is easily achievable.
