KIPP Somos Primary is a school that is clearly committed to helping young children grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The school creates a welcoming environment where students are encouraged to learn, families are kept informed, and teachers work hard to support each childs progress. In my experience, the staff shows dedication, care, and a strong belief that every student can succeed.
One of the strengths of the school is the sense of structure and purpose in the classroom. Students are given opportunities to build foundational skills in reading, math, and overall learning habits, while teachers remain focused on helping them stay engaged and motivated. The school also works to foster a safe and positive atmosphere, which is important for young learners.
KIPP Somos Primary also values family involvement, and that makes a real difference. Families are treated as partners in the educational process, and that support helps build trust between home and school. For students who need additional help or accommodations, the school continues working toward providing the support they need to thrive.
Overall, KIPP Somos Primary is a strong choice for families looking for a school that is caring, structured, and committed to student growth. I would recommend it to parents who want a school that takes learning seriously while also supporting children as whole learners.

This school was one of my first entrances into the career of education and I am so thankful for this experience. I have bonded with my children in a way that I wish (as do they) to move up grades with them in the future. The opportunities of growth and coaching that I have received throughout this school year has been a blessing and pushed me into being the best educator that I could be. I am hopeful for the next school year and how I can be even greater for our little KIPPsters!

Heres a polished review you could post publicly while keeping it firm and credible:
My experience with KIPP Texas has been extremely disappointing. The school appears to struggle with maintaining discipline and classroom order. Students are often allowed to disrupt lessons and damage classrooms with little meaningful accountability, which creates a stressful learning environment for both teachers and students who actually want to learn.
The school also places an overwhelming amount of pressure on students and staff. Students are repeatedly required to take iReady assessments multiple times throughout the year to measure growth, yet many parents and teachers question whether these tests truly reflect real academic progress. At the same time, teachers are heavily overworked, leading to high burnout and constant stress.
Instead of focusing on creating a stable and supportive learning environment, the school seems overly focused on testing data and performance metrics. Unfortunately, this approach does not appear to be improving student outcomes, as low morale and poor test performance continue to be major concerns.
Overall, KIPP Texas needs stronger classroom management, better support for teachers, and a more balanced approach to student learning instead of relying so heavily on constant testing.

As a teacher for 3 years at this school, this has been the worst teaching experience. Ive had little to no support up until the end of the year when scores mattered. The special education team tries very hard to accommodate but our school does not always have the opportunities to support our special education students with what they need.

Ive had my kids in kipp almost 3 years and there will not be a fourth. I have ran into things in this school i did not know where possible from my kid coming home in his own feces to being told to be quiet for asking for his inhaler i cant believe it. As for my daughter being told that she cant change classes because the other class has worst kids is something laughable i wish this school turns it around but I cannot put my kids through anymore of your failures as a school we will be gone next year.

My experience as a parent in the school has always been welcoming and friendly. Always happy to see me and my kids. In the classroom, theyre nicely organized and clean. Ive never felt out of place. Ive had 3 of my kids in this school for 14 years now. I worried in the beginning my son would struggle but I knew soon after the teachers..would be great. 14 years ago a teacher Ms. Torres showed me she wouldnt leave my son behind. I forever appreciate her because 13 years later my son graduated high school and now attends a univeristy. She even surprisingly showed up to his graduation. She never forgot him. Thank you Ms. Torres and all the other teachers that do so much. They hold your students hand and motivate them to learn what they need to. They work with the parents.

We love the staff and teachers our children have. Our boys love attending Kipp Primary! The front staff is amazing. They are all always so patient with our many questions and always so helpful and welcoming. Ms Cormack is amazing and worked with one of our oldest kippsters, so we are beyond excited that our boys have her this year as their school leader! Our daughter had nothing but the best things to say, so you know Ms Cormack is the best of the best when a student remembers them and tells her siblings theyre lucky to have her!
We do wish there was more transparency when it comes to our concerns with our boys receiving special education services. Weve received different answers as to when they would start receiving speech therapy and this has remained a concern of ours since the beginning of the school year. We do hope to continue with Kipp and understand that things do happen, so we do greatly appreciate the reassurance weve been given. Our main concern is their education and receiving speech therapy is top priority so that they do not fall further behind, and we remain hopeful that these services will start soon.

Not good. Run like an alternative school. Extremely rigid and discipline oriented. Not a college prep at all. Hours are far to long for children of this age and God forbid your child ever receive after school detention, they'll miss dinner as they don't get out until 6pm. Found staff and teachers to be uninformed and poorly educated. Just not pleased at all. This school, I've found like most Kipp schools, fails to meet even the most basic of educational criteria for a charter school program.

These teachers are amazingly effective. I have yet to see a group of faculty come together so seamlessly to nurture and grow these young minds.

My particular child comes home with her work and she isn't overwhelmed or exhausted. She tackles it fine and still has plenty of time left in her day for her tween stuff. She maintains good grades so it's not like she is not completing it either. Overall Just right.

This school has core values that it instills in the students with awesome reward programs as they achieve these values thru their everyday interaction with fellow peers and teachers. But the end result is that the students are more aware than ever of these values and practice them even without reward now!

WOW! WOW! WOW! What an amazing group of motivated and inspiring faculty that have come together to mold our future generations at this school!!!! I have to take a moment to recognize what I have personally witnessed within the individual teachers and administration...they not only emphasize continued education but they practice what they say! One teacher even graduated from a local university and his very own students attended his ceremony! Now tell me this isn't inspiration at it's truest form!!! The teachers have even come to my home to have one on one meetings with us before school even started to introduce themselves to us and our child! MIND BLOWN! Who does courteous things like this anymore?!?! THIS TEAM OF TEACHERS! THAT'S WHO! The faculty loves the children and it shows thru their everyday interactions. They even have children from other schools come and visit them! Ok Ok enough about the awesome teachers I know, but truth is, my daughter has never looked forward to school as much as she does now. She is in their Cross Country program as well as Spanish classes and is now the best runner in our family as well as corrects me with my TACO BELL SPANISH lol! And she's only ten! I can only wonder what the future holds for her as she continues to attend this school and advances in their Spanish and Athletic programs and other electives as they become available. Thank You For teaching my daughter that furthering her education is something amazing to look forward to!
