I feel like the schools teachers arent as educated as i would like them to be. The teachers have very heavy accents which make them really hard to understand even english instruction. These are little children and i understand its an immersive arabic learning but too much emphasis on arabic and not more on math strategies and english reading is not good in the texas education system. Also favoritism for arabic speaking children have to end. Theres also a very rude physical education teacher who is very rough with the kids in the way she threatens to fail and speaks harshly to them. If you ask the average student they hate her class when that should be the most fun.

My familys experience with this school has been disappointing.
As a parent, I understand that no school is perfect. Children will face challenges, and occasional misunderstandings are inevitable. However, I expect a school environment to be welcoming, equitable, and responsive to both students and families. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.
My primary concern was my childs repeated perception that he was treated differently than some of his peers. He often came home feeling singled out or corrected more frequently. While I cannot speak to every classroom interaction, I cannot ignore the perspective of the child experiencing it. One comment that stood out came directly from my son: She treats the people who speak Arabic better than she treats people who dont. Whether that perception reflects intent or not, it is concerning that a young child felt there was a difference in how students were treated.
In todays world, children are already navigating questions of identity, belonging, and acceptance. Schools should be places where every student feels equally valued and supported, regardless of language background, culture, or ethnicity. When a child consistently feels like an outsider, families deserve to have those concerns taken seriously.
Unfortunately, the challenges extended beyond the classroom. Interactions with office staff were often discouraging and unprofessional. On multiple occasions, I felt ignored when approaching the front desk for assistance. There were also phone interactions that left me feeling dismissed, including being hung up on while attempting to address routine matters regarding my child. At times, I genuinely joked that I must have been wearing an invisibility cloak because basic acknowledgment seemed too much to ask.
A schools culture is reflected not only in its academics but also in how it treats families. Respect, courtesy, and professionalism should be standard.
The Arabic immersion model is a wonderful concept, and I appreciate the opportunity it provides students to learn another language and culture. However, a strong program cannot compensate for an environment where students and parents do not consistently feel welcomed, heard, or respected.
I hope school leadership takes feedback like this seriously and works toward ensuring that every child and family feels equally valued, supported, and included.

We have been for almost a decade at AIMS. Love it! Unique environment, great admin and very supportive staff. Itt has the feel of an international school.
The building and courts are bright, modern and welcoming. Vibrant multicultural festivals, UN and Career days, memorable field trips. Rigorous learning and enriching curriculum geared towards global readiness. Ambition and positiveness are constantly cultivated here. A+

Im so grateful for the incredible experience my children have had at this school. The teachers, administrators, and staff are truly the bestcaring, professional, and always going above and beyond to support every student. Ive seen so much growth in my kids, both academically and personally. Theyve especially benefited from the strong Arabic program and the well-rounded support in all areas, including sports and enrichment. This school has created a nurturing environment where my children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn every day. Highly recommended!

Nothing more important than a school with enough resources to spend on festivities but not on disabled kids in their campus.
They said in an official ARD meeting that they don't have the knowledge or the means to support my kid.
Meanwhile they kept on giving him punishments all the time although he has minor behavioral disorder which needs addressing before "dealing with him" according to the student handbook.
They are backed well by HISD since their numbers are high, but go to details and you will find these high numbers are for high class students not those who need support.
I hope HISD be taken over by some Federal institution to make them comply to Federal laws.

We've been at this school for 3 years now, and overall it's been a great experience. There is a strong community that supports the school, good PTO and family activities. It's very diverse and equitable for students, everybody is welcome and treated well. The teachers care about the students, and we've always been able to work with them to support our kids whether they are ahead and need more challenge or behind and need extra support.
Regarding the culture of the school, our kids have experienced some bullying but it has been dealt with swiftly and effectively and we're happy with that. One thing to consider is that the school goes from Pre-K through 8th grade, and the middle school children can sometimes be a negative influence on the younger kids teaching them language and things that are not age appropriate.
Where we have not had a great experience is with the administration. They have not been responsive to requests for testing or learning accommodations. We have also had many great teachers leave the school, and while district changes (TEA takeover) are driving most of this attrition the administration seems to also be a factor.

The school has provided an incredible experience for me! The teachers are dedicated to ensuring a thorough understanding of each lesson. AIMS encourages students to fully embrace Arabic, incorporating activities like dabke dancing and darbuka drumming into the curriculum. United Nations Day is celebrated annually, promoting cultural awareness. Additionally, the Arabian Nights and Silk Road Festivals offer enjoyable opportunities for everyone to engage in food, fun, and student performances. In summary, it's truly a fantastic school.

My experience at this school has been amazing! The teachers are always trying to help you understand the lesson at hand. AIMS aspires students to embrace Arabic fully, for example we learn dabke (A type of dance) and the darbuka (A type of drum). Every year we have United Nations Day welcomed into our school, it's a way of learning different cultures this world composes of. We also have Arabian Nights and Silk Road Festivals where everyone can have fun, eat food and watch students perform. In short, this is a truly wonderful school.

Inconsistent from year to year, across the same grade. Last year, son was given supplemental work and practice. This year, his brother has been given nothing, and is falling far behind.

Teachers and Adnin dont respond to emails. We have no clue what our child is being taught or learning, despite repeated requests and meetings. Poor communications. Principal (new this year) just makes excuses and doesnt resolve anything.

This school is all about teacher convenience, not student learning. The teachers for our child don't have curriculum, they making it up as they go. 2nd grade students JUST got their math books and school year almost over.

They focus on what's most important and beneficial- reading. This also encourages the parent/child relationship which is equally important towards your child's success.
