I have three children at BASIS, and my youngest is now at this campus. I can truly say that choosing BASIS has been one of the best decisions weve made for our family.

Over the years, Ive met many families who have chosen to leave, often because the academic expectations were not the right fit for their child. BASIS is definitely challenging, but that challenge is exactly what my children needed to grow and thrive.

The staff is wonderful, and we have always felt at home here. Parent involvement is encouraged. If you have a child who enjoys being challenged academically, I highly recommend considering BASIS.

We are very pleased with the academic improvement we have seen in our child, although we dont agree with the workload. Teachers are wonderful, if not overworked and its a shame that the leadership and support at this school ruin what could be an incredible opportunity. Communication is simply awful there is a constant barrage of notifications regarding donations or financial support from the parents, they ask for money sometimes twice a week. But communication about safety, policy change or even running out of lunches yes you read that right, is almost non existent or hidden in the depths of one of the multitude of apps you are required to download. With the exception of Mr. English front office staff is rude, unprofessional, and unresponsive. There has been a steady stream of leadership turnover during the one year we attended and this lack of stability can be felt throughout. Security guards spend most of the time staring at their phones or simply standing in the shade away from students and doors. The last straw was certainly the fact that they ended the school lunch program 9 days before the end of the year and failed to communicate with parents that their children would not have a lunch.

Overall, weve had a wonderful experience at BASIS San Antonio Primary North Central. The teachers and staff truly care about the students, and it shows in how involved and supportive they are. We love the strong STEM focus, diverse environment, student clubs, cultural events, and opportunities like student hours for extra help when needed.

Like any school, it isnt perfect. There seems to be a higher staff/principal turnover rate than we expected, and the workload can feel overwhelming when students miss multiple days. We also expected the early Mandarin program to be more immersive. However, none of those things have outweighed the positive experience weve had. Our daughter has been challenged academically, supported by her teachers, and genuinely loves going to school here. Were very grateful for the experience so far.

Our three children have gone through Basis and we are very happy with the education they are receiving. Highly recommend if you want to challenge your student academically.

Our family has had a really positive experience at BASIS San Antonio Primary North Central. I appreciate the strong academics, clear expectations, and supportive environment the school provides. The curriculum is challenging, but in a good way. My children have grown so much this year, both academically and personally, and Ive seen them become more confident, independent, and responsible while still feeling supported.

The staff and front office have been welcoming and responsive, which means a lot as a parent. It helps to feel like communication is open and that families are part of the school community. I also appreciate the events and activities that bring students, parents, and staff together.

BASIS is a school where parents do need to stay involved, but for our family, the structure and high standards have been worth it. I would recommend it to families looking for a strong, caring, and community-oriented school.

Our experience with BASIS has been extremely positive. The school maintains high standards while creating an environment where students feel encouraged and supported. The faculty members are dedicated and invested in each childs growth, both inside and outside the classroom.

Since attending BASIS, my children have developed stronger time-management skills, self-discipline, and confidence in their abilities. The coursework is demanding, but it prepares students to become thoughtful learners and motivated individuals.

Also It has been rewarding to watch the school continue to evolve and strengthen over the years. We are thankful for the caring educators and staff who make such a positive impact on students and families.

This campus does not follow developmentally appropriate curriculum, and there are several students with behavior issues who continue to cause classroom disruptions. As an educator and family member of a student who previously attended this school, I am extremely disappointed in the way it is run.

The curriculum is great! I sent my son here because I thought the "rigorous curriculum" would challenge him. I don't think it did too much bc he still aced everything and tests above average. My issue comes with safety. He has been left behind and unaccounted for during classes as they move classes in first grade, there's supposed to be a teacher in the hallway ensuring the 1st graders stays together and gets where they're going, somehow my son spent the entire class period in the restroom and nobody thought to account for him, just reported his absence to attendance. He has been physically assaulted during recess by groups of kids in higher grades and chased to the point of collapse. He has recieved verbal threats on his life. Been stomped on and most recently received a kick to the back that left visible marks. When he asked for an ice pack from the nurse later in the day he was refused and told "you'll be fine" by his main teacher. The nurse failed to notify me of the injury but had no issue calling , leaving a voicemail and email that he threw up but they believed it was only because he saw something disgusting in the trash. However, when I made a complaint she claims to have seen the area and claims "no sign of irritation". I have pictures taken immediately upon pickup given the severity and basic knowledge of the body I can confidently say there were definitely signs at the time of occurrence. The teacher yells and tell the children to "shut their mouths up". Teachers and Dean are not on the same page expectation wise either, dean would say something is ok the teacher would overrule. I had a parent teacher conference, spoken with the deans and finally withdrew my son. There are some really great teachers at BASIS but the couple bad apples have ruined the bunch for us. Overall do not recommend unless safety and well being is not a priority.

We went to this school because we heard good things about the curriculum. There's a waiting list and in order to ensure we get in, we were advised to switch during the current year. We did, in April. At the end of April, we get an "official notice" that my kindergarden son will be held back because he doesn't have enough grades in a subject that did not exist at the other school. They say "we might" be able to submit a packet in July, and he "might" pass. I asked for the package now, so we have time to make up any work, and that would be a non issue. They don't have it and told me to wait for him to fail first. That's unacceptable. He has no chances to get to 67% in a month because he doesn't have that amount of work submitted. The kid is smart, can do the work, but has no opportunities to make up for it and is put on a path to fail?
Packets with work missed should be given to transferring students, on their first day. They should not be put on a path to fail regardless of the quality of their work. Please note we cane from advanced charter, with an uniform.
Regarding the NC campus, this is no one's first choice anyways. The teacher turn over is high and hence the quality lower. People tough it out here so they are already in the system and have priority to transfer to the Medical Center Campus. As far as the Basis system goes, nobody wants to be here.

I would have given o star if there was an option. this is the worst school. the teachers, staff and administration are the worst.
