My child rarely had homework or any studying that was strongly encouraged. (One math teacher often sent things). Since entering BISD, weve noticed there is not a push for students to excel unless its test time for Star.
There are no parent-teacher conference dates, nor are there report cards sent home. Its always, Just check skyward. But it would be great to get an individual, flagged emailed with an announcement saying, End of quarter grades have been posted! It would be good for students, parents, and teachers.
As a substitute teacher, i have seen that phones are a problem, as well as iPods. Some teachers let them slide. Without a group consensus and group effort, its not seen as a rule by the kids.
Hoping I can have more involvement and voice in the year to come.

This school has zero communications with parents. If you call you will be sent to voicemail and never get a call back. If you email you may be lucky and receive an answer back in 10 days or so. If your child has a learning disability please for your childs sake send them to another school. This one is just plain horrible.

Overall, my experience has been quite interesting. I would personally recommend another school other than North Belton.

The majority of the teachers and administrators are excellent. However, the environment allows a few teachers to cancel out the positives.

The teachers are amazing. The principal is very involved and knows what's going on in all aspects of the school. Great place for kids to learn.
