My two daughters attended Challenger School from pre-K to 5th grade. We would have stayed longer if there was a high school. We left when the girls got into a "good" public charter school that went up to 12th grade. Having experienced this private school and a good public school I can confidently say Challenger is worth the investment. My girls are ahead of their classmates in every subject. They have more experience with writing and public speaking. Challenger had short answer and essay questions on tests and our charter school tends to be multiple choice. I did not appreciate that at the time. At Challenger there is a fair amount of homework especially in math. Because of all the practice, my girls excel in math facts and are math movers at their new school. It can be difficult for some parents to work with the administration since they keep the parents away from the teachers i. e. You can't email the teachers directly, only the management. This helps the teachers focus on the kids and lesson planning. They train their teachers well and have an excellent circuulum inching coding. There are no kids with special learning needs or behavior problems. This allows them to teach kids who are in the top 20 prevent if a typical class. I would highly recommend this school of you want your kids to have a great education and work hard. If you're a helicopter parent, it might not be a good fit.

Worst experience ever! The teacher don't even check the homework. Don't let me start with the headmaster! Worst ever! Can you believe they pick on a kid?

Both of my sons have steadily improved in their critical thinking, sense of responsibility, and plain knowledge based on the homework assignments and class teaching.

The teachers are wonderful in that they support what our sons are naturally good at and also support the positive behaviors that are tougher for them. The focus on character development is excellent.

This is one of my favorite parts about the school. The focus on character comes into everything - supporting our efforts at home to do the same.

For the last four years, school leadership has been supportive in helping us develop our boys. I love that they can speak honestly about our sons challenges while still seeing our boys worth and strong points.

I dont think I have had to deal with a situation that would give me insight on this.

We have not had any bullying to deal with at Challenger.

We really appreciate that we have found a school that fits both our sons (who are so different from each other!). Its a big investment to make, but we feel that Challenger is helping instill the values of hard work, responsibility, and respect for both our sons. We also appreciate the great curriculum - especially the focus on critical thinking.

This school's curriculum is not any better than the rest of the schools in RRISD and AISD. Don't even get me started on the management and staff... As many have already heard/ read, the management does not listen to the parents at all. They do not accept that they need to improve on things. They will not even treat the parents with respect. They will cut you off if you try to talk to them. You MUST have an appoint to talk about anything even it takes only a couple of minutes to discuss. They do not encourage the kids to do better. They actually are discouraging, constantly picking only a couple of students from the class to participate in competitions. This the worst school. Please do not send your child to this school. I guarantee you will regret it the moment you walk in.
