I was part of this school community long enough to see what many people only realize after being inside it for a while: what is presented publicly is not always what is happening underneath.
There is an intense focus on performance, numbers, marketing, fundraising optics, and maintaining a spiritually polished image. From the outside, it is framed as disciplined, values-driven, and morally grounded. In my experience, the reality felt very different. Leadership and their close circle are deeply intertwined, highly protective of one another, and often defensive when concerns are raised. Accountability is not something I saw handled openly or honestly. Like many other reviews have said in different ways, this is something you begin to notice once you are actually in the environment or need a serious issue addressed.
Another major concern is the performative culture around visitors, investors, and outsiders. Children are told what to expect, how to behave, how to present themselves, and how to participate in a version of the school day that does not feel natural or authentic. They are expected to be in full uniform, follow certain cues, and maintain a rigid standard of presentation. If they fall short, they are corrected harshly. My child once asked me why they had to act like something they were not, and that question was one of the biggest wake-up calls for me.
Students are also often spoken down to if they are not performing at an exemplary level. Instead of correction followed by encouragement, there can be a tone of pressure, rigidity, and disapproval. That may produce compliance, but it does not create the kind of uplifting environment the school publicly advertises.
Another troubling pattern is how religious background seems to function as a shield against scrutiny. The leaderships spiritual image appears to discourage questioning, as though public faith automatically proves integrity. What you see is not necessarily what you get, but because the image is so polished, many assume the mask is the truth. It is not.
Many of us walked away disappointed in the leadership, the culture, and the way difficult truths seemed to be managed rather than confronted. I would urge any parent to look past the branding and pay close attention to how concerns are handled, how children are spoken to, and whether accountability actually exists when something serious goes wrong.

As a former middle school (7th) student here, I would like to say this school isnt for everyone. They are extremely reserved and will treat your child like a business deal. This place is a smokescreen.. its an inexplicable feeling that you can only expierience by being there. They take more than they can handle. There seems to be an excessive emphasis on academic excellence, often at the expense of inclusivity and student well-being/ mental health. While high-achieving students are recognized and supported, those who require extra needed help are frequently left behind, creating a system that feels unequal and emotionally taxing. The staff's approach to students can come across as condescending, and there appears to be little to no regard for mental health. The teachers will dismiss it, and put it aside as if it didnt matter. In an age where emotional intelligence and support are key to a child's success, this lack of attention is extremely concerning. Although extracurricular activities are beginning to evolve & emerge, they remain underdeveloped. A significant portion of the school's funding has gone toward expanding infrastructure rather than investing in programs that nurture creativity, collaboration, and holistic development. I sincerely wish that in the future, the school will evolve into a more balanced environment, one that celebrates all learners, promotes mental wellness, and encourages personal growth beyond test scores.

Beta Academy truly is a magical place!
We have children at both campuses, and they are well supported academically, emotionally, and socially. The Beta community has become like family to our kids, and that sense of belonging shows in everything they do.
Theyre not only thriving academically, but theyve also developed strong soft skills that sets them apart from their peers. The leadership at both campuses excellent. They consistently set a high standard that our kids are proud to rise to.
Were incredibly grateful to be part of a district that invests so deeply in its scholars. Choosing Beta Academy has been one of the best decisions weve made for our family!

Beta Academy is an exceptional place where students (they call them scholars) are taught to have respect for themselves and others while being expected to rise to the level of rigorous academic standards. They work hard to maintain a safe environment for the students and faculty, but the campus is always joyful and fun rather than feeling like a locked down public school. I love how the classrooms have large windows so the students and teachers aren't confined to dark interior classrooms like so many schools have. It's also great that no political agenda is pushed at Beta. They don't bring their own ideology into the classroom, but they let parents be the moral compass for their own children. Their focus is on exceptional character and joyful learning.

Ill just say the school isnt for everyone. They seem really restricted and conservative. Comes off more like a business than a school. Poor communication. All the minority teachers are on the same hallway. Its family owned and operated, so just imagine. Teachers and staff are always leaving. I wonder why

Best school! I have 3 enrolled in Beta, and they love going to school each day. It's such an energetic and joyful atmosphere. I could not ask for a better learning environment for them. They use the whole-brain teaching method, which is is really fun and engaging. I would have loved learning that way in school. They also focus on soft skills, and it's amazing to see the change in my two elementary schoolers. Everyone is so kind, and the teachers and staff really care about the success, safety and well-being of the students. I would recommend Beta to anyone!

Very disappointing experience. Lacks organization and communication. Takes on more than they can handle is the way it seems. We were so excited as we heard great things, but we didnt get that experience unfortunately. There were some friendly office staff, but the protocols they had in place as well seemed really ridiculous. 7-10 business days was my answer for any kind of response to speak to someone in administration, like my child was a business deal. We chose to withdrawal our children after three weeks, then we finally got a phone call. Unfortunately, it was too late. I hope for the future Beta can put better processes in place, especially for concerned parents, and new parents at that to be aware of how their scholars are doing and to make sure they are provided with appropriate updates. Responses we have received from leadership most recently have lacked responsibility, and are filled with excuses on why they couldn't meet our needs. From growing up surrounded by teachers and family in education, I have the most upmost respect and patience for schools. I even donated hundreds of dollars of COVID supplies for students during my children's short tenure, and didn't get a thank you. I would place my child somewhere else if I knew what I know now.

I love how proactive Beta is when presented with new requirements set by the State. They go above and beyond to be compliant. During the COVID-19 outbreak Beta Academy acted quickly and they were up and running within a week and a half. I am very impressed with their standard of excellence.

Great school. Great teachers. If you can get in, Beta will be the best choice you've made in a low time. Be prepared -- your scholar will need to work. If you're not prepared to be on your kid about homework, don't waste your time applying. They push students to be excellent.

My daughter has been enrolled for the past year and I'm soooo happy with our decision to get her there. I didn't know much about what a charter school was before, and I now know they are not all equal. We haven't had any issues with bullying. I know my daughter is receiving a first-class education. There's lots of attention invested in her. We work on homework together.
The teachers have the students stand up in front of class every time they speak, encouraging them to feel confident when addressing a crowd and confident when accepting criticism or disagreement from a classmate. This is the way you'd imagine a student learning in preparation for the real world! Be prepared! Your kid will be challenged. You'll need to be involved. It takes a village to raise a child.

My daughter is in second grade. I shocked to see the type of attention is spent on each and every scholar. The classroom is high-energy. All her classmates know the chants and learn how to take and receive feedback. I've noticed a positive change in her.

Mrs. Andrews is wonderful. She knows almost every student and parent by first and last name. I know she has the best of intentions for the school and community. We're lucky to have her.

There's a morning program that I forget the name of where each student is broken up into smaller classes by reading level. That's another opportunity for kids to catch up if they're having difficulty. AND they have Saturday tutorials.
