All of my children attend the school currently, I am so thankful for them starting a pre k class it has been immensely helpful for my child. My oldest child has been coming here since kindergarten and to see her prosper and growth not only in her education but as a person also, the staff know the kids by name and some of us parents who all join the events! I am sad we are moving away because we truly enjoyed this school and are forever grateful for the friends weve made with the other parents!

Our experience with this school has been truly positive. All three of my children have attended this campus, and one successfully transitioned to our sister school. The office staff makes transitions smooth, and communication has always been timely and supportive. Ive never had difficulty getting responses from teachers, staff, or administration.
What stands out most is how excited my children are to come to school each day. They feel comfortable and supported in their classrooms and consistently come home talking about what theyve learned or what they are looking forward to learning next. That enthusiasm has been incredibly reassuring as a parent.
This campus offers a close-knit, diverse community along with strong academics and enriching opportunities in Fine Arts, including art, music, and dance. Two of my children have also participated in the Gifted and Talented program and have had very positive experiences with hands-on, meaningful projects.
Overall, the teachers are thoughtful and intentional in their instruction, making learning engaging and purposeful. I am grateful for a school environment where my children feel happy, challenged, and supported every day.

Our children have been attending Somerset now since they started school. My son is in 4th grade now and my daughter is in kindergarten. The staff and administrators are very friendly and kind. Safe place for children's to learn and grow. They also offer after-school care as well for working parents. Very convenient. Thanks Somerset for taking great care of my little ones.

Somerset Academy Oaks has been a wonderful experience for our family for past 6 yrs. The teachers are dedicated and genuinely care for each and every student. The school maintains a safe and structured environment that supports both academic growth and character development.
In the morning, the staffs welcome each child with a warm smile making them feel valued and excited for the day. My kids are already excited for the new campus they are building across the road. While the school is doing a great job overall, additional focus on GT program would further support gifted learners.

I love this school. We've been here two years and I'm excited for my youngest to start kindergarten soon and join their older sibling. It's a safe small school environment. I do wish they had more outdoor time but other than that I have no other complaints.

I have been bringing my children to the school for 8 years, it has grown tremendously! Not only in size, but also the amount of great teachers, and wonderful environment! Out of the entire 8 years, there was only one year there, there was only one issue, which the district and the school immediately addressed. There are not many schools in the city that are this size and the staff still knows every single child's name. It doesn't just feel like a school, it feels like a close community.
I am very happy with the learning environment in this school. It's very easy to communicate with the teachers, and I have been very happy with my children's grades!

This school was super awesome and I stayed here for 5 years cause it was just so awesome the students were great and super friendly, and the teachers super nice.I was skeptical at first but then it grew on me while enrolled at Brooks Oaks Academy. It will have a place in my heart always.seeing all of the students together was like one big party of all kinds of people from around the world and the best part was that the staff workers didnt exclude them because of their ethnicity .The resources they had were great and never wasted stuff and had donations toward organizations.

Overall, it was awful. My child is so behind and their self worth has been destroyed by negligent staff and teachers.
Posted: September 24, 2020
The homework is excessive, and my child never seems to have the appropriate knowledge to apply to the assignments.

In two years, I've had problems with both teachers. Last year my child was reprimanded nearly everyday, but the teacher never did anything to try to improve the behaviors which were very clearly stemming from my child being ignored/not getting the appropriate amount of attention for the teacher. They definitely play favorites and it left my child feeling self-conscious and inadequate. I requested a classroom change at the beginning of the year (first month) and didn't get a resolution until Spring. This year for distance learning, I get to witness firsthand just how much the teacher neglects my child every single day. When asked for help, she literally ignores my child's concerns/issues. She calls on them last every time, and when asked to repeat or clarify something so they can do the schoolwork, she again completely ignores them. My child is so far behind and it is 100% because the teachers here either don't care or have not been properly trained.

They take forever to fix any issues brought to their attention. It took them nearly a year to put an action plan in place to help my child when they fell behind and were acting out. The woman at the front after school absolutely plays favorites.
Posted: September 24, 2020
Takes MONTHS for get action plans/alternative learning plans together. They absolutely fail students with any sort of different needs.
Posted: September 24, 2020
Not only do students bully, but teachers do as well. There is literally no reason to play favorites with students. There is no reason for a grown person to hold a grudge against a 4/5 year old, but it absolutely happens here.

The staff bullies just as much as students would in public school
Posted: February 18, 2020
Horrible, I would never recommend, surprising this school has such a good reputation
Posted: February 18, 2020
Teachers dont really care about homework being turned in, they send a lot, more or less for review
Posted: February 18, 2020
My child has complained numerous times about the teachers talking down to students/ belittling
Posted: February 18, 2020
The way this school disciplines leaves students feeling worthless

School Is Not What It Seems. Policies are not being enforced.
Posted: December 9, 2019
No communication whatsoever from teacher. The only reason the school has a high rating is because it's new.
Posted: December 9, 2019
No communication with teacher whatsoever could never speak to her in person.
Posted: December 9, 2019
Teacher completely dropping the ball. From what my all child has told me the teacher talks to the students horribly.
Posted: December 9, 2019
No communication. Policies not being enforced. Teachers completely checking out when it comes to recess with children.
Posted: December 9, 2019
Is school does not cater whatsoever to a child with special needs. And have no way of assessing a child with special needs.
Posted: December 9, 2019
Personally my child has been bullied at this school. Policies were not being followed. Students can put their hands on other students with no repercussions whatsoever. I was never informed of any incidents other than my child letting me know.
