BASIS San Antonio Primary- Medical Center Campus

I was excited when my daughter got into basis medical as someone on the lower income side of things, the constant requests for donations to the teachers fund and the cost for events like the fall festival is insane but I do my best to not let my daughter see that she has less than most than her peers and I try my best to pay for the cost of the events, the most expensive term project program and I do everything so she doesn't feel left out, but I am sure as she gets older she will probably realize she is poor compared to her peers but for now we make it work. We have had issues that were brought to my attention that my daughter wasn't paying attention well in school last year and off in her own world I took my daughter to the doctor who requested I complete and assessment and that her teacher does as well. They never completed it so her doctor and I agree maybe it will improve this year. We love Basis though and hopefully my own income improves over time to make sending my child here less of a financial struggle.

No proper instructions, messed up dismissal and pickup. All the teachers are doesn't care mindset and always asks for donations for silly reasons. I got shocked when my kid said her class teacher asked for Amazon Gift card as she loves getting such gifts. Curriculum is kind of too burden for kids.

Sometimes I felt like they think like homework had to be given anyway. Besides Math 30 problem, it was no sense. For example ‘Research world’s traditional music or instrument (India, China, Italy and Japan) and fill the answer sheet.

Kids are busy after 8 hours of school plus commute. It’s already 16:30 without after school activity. Say after swimming lesson or Piano lesson, it’s 18:00 when we get home.
Why do you have to make students restless with this type/quality of homework? It’s not necessary!

To me it didn’t fully make sense of all the homework.
Family quality time was just stolen sometimes.

Teachers are very passionate and love on students. Being teacher at Basis is definitely not easy but they do such a great job. Wonderful teachers!

I can’t believe it was first year of Basis Primary but teachers organized incredibly well of teaching and events. Best school year ever.

I have to say ‘BUT’ my child’s money was stolen on book fair day. My child’s lunch has been stolen and I’ve heard The same cases. Other campus student’s lunch have been stolen but why teachers do nothin about it?

I feel very fortunate of my kids got in to this school. Campus is 50 minutes away from our house but was worth it.
