When my son was 4, he attended his very first day of pre-K at this school after never having been in daycare or a school setting before. It was a half-day practice session, and understandably, he experienced separation anxiety and attempted to leave the classroom several times looking for me.
After just that initial 4-hour experience, I received a call from the principal stating that the school may not be able to accommodate him. I was also told that “our curriculum is accelerated and is not for everyone,” and that if I chose to keep him enrolled and he were later removed, it would go on his permanent record. As a parent of a very young child who was simply adjusting to school for the first time, this was extremely discouraging and felt very final after such a short introduction to the program.
At the time, I was also enrolled in IDEA for my daughters in what was described as an “advanced program,” though I later came to realize the curriculum was not actually more advanced than what is offered in other local districts.
Ultimately, I chose to withdraw my son and place him in a different preschool where he was given the time and support to adjust properly. Today, he is a thriving 5th grader at BASIS, where he is truly challenged and excelling academically.
I share this experience because I believe early childhood education should include patience, understanding, and support for children who are new to structured school environments—especially at age 4. While this school may work for some families, it was not the right fit for ours, and I wish my son had been given more than a single day to adjust before being judged as incompatible with the program.

My son has been going here for five years and my little one has been going for two and I’ve had great experiences with each teacher.

We deeply regret our decision to enroll our children at this school due to a series of concerning experiences. During reading class, we noticed that when the class was full and our child was unable to participate, the solution seemed to be sending them to math class instead, despite their struggles with reading. This approach not only disrupted their learning but also ignored the specific strategies outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP), which was meant to support their educational needs.

Additionally, we observed that the teachers often displayed frustration with our child, which led to a distressing home environment. Our child would return home in tears, feeling overwhelmed and unsupported. This constant emotional turmoil eventually caused them to shut down, resulting in increasing anxiety about attending school. It became clear that the very environment that should foster learning and growth instead became a source of fear for our child, leading to a deep concern for their wellbeing and academic journey.

We are a founding family and I regret having my son attend this campus. The mission statement and values Idea presents are noteworthy and may be provided at other campuses but not at Ingram Hills.
From teachers who have no professionalism, subpar even raw food, administration that is on constant rotation and only cares about state exams results all contribute to how awful this school is. My son has a speech impediment however, I was told it's not an issue for him or his school work. Yet when I took him to a speech therapist i found how much work he needs and how he doesn't speak up at school due to this. The school provides no special education or support to parents for children who need it. If you are able to obtain a number for a teacher you will never be able to get a hold of them. Communication is dismissal and parents are kept in the dark about important things at school. Academy which is elementary is far better than College Prep which is middle and high school. My son has two classes to improve the campus' state testing stats but nothing to help scholars learn. There are no classes to broadened his horizon like science, art or history. There are no electives and he rarely has any physical education or time outside. This campus is heavy on increasing the enrollment however, do not have qualified teachers to fill the amount of scholars they bring in. For two semesters my son didn't have permanent teachers and had no grades for Math and Reading due to this. Teachers will witness bullying yet will do nothing unless you call them out and escalate the issue tremendously. They make excuses for bad behavior and bullying and even victim blame to thwart responsibility. There's new administration but unless you make enough noise they will never reach out or be proactive about your children's education or their well-being at school. I have my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees so higher education is not foreign to me. I didnt need Idea to help my son get to and through college. I wanted him to have a safe and great educational experience. However, with the experience of what we have gone through over these 7 years attending this campus is my only regret.

This school sucks. the foods bad the subs are bad and and some teachers don't even like teaching we've only had and a ELA teacher for like a week and just had an ELA exam our poor teacher was trying to rush and teach us every thing he can lol if you want your kid to hate learning and school i recommend.

Idea Ingram Hills lack in all ways to have children achieve. They promote something they are not. This school is a joke and should be brought to light.

My child really wanted to tour the school and was excited Really wanted to enroll and giving my child high hopes at idea but the miscommunication of the staff and poor training did not make it possible. I already had a bad feeling from the start. It seem like high turn over of staff always new people and they Never answer the phone. Im glad my child did not attending IDEA after interaction with the principle was very cold did not Apologize after wasting our time.

The teacher threatened to bring in my daughters bully because she was misbehaving. Horrible first year of school experience for my daughter this school is horrible had the teacher done this he wouldn’t of liked what I would have done it’s always something with this school so glad it’s almost over

It has been a great experience with three of my children attending this school. We have been part of Ram family since they first opened. The teachers, principal, and counselors are amazing. They are always communitive with parents and my kids have learned so much since they began attending Ingram Hills. I have no complaints. I highly recommend anyone to enroll their children at this school.

The teachers are always there to respond to any questions you may have. Also, they will notify you on everything regarding your child quickly. Most of the time if there was any issue with an assignment by the end of the day I will receive a call or email.

Amazing! My son went from being bored at the regular public school and getting punched in kindergarten to starting here at idea. He has grown so much in his development of reading, writing, and everything in between. The teachers are incredible and I fully trust. My son will definitely stay st this school.
