As a student who has been here since it opened from kindergarten, here is what I have to say. This school is honestly a good school for gifted kids and we have a lot of them. The rules are very strict though. For example, no metal water bottles, we cant sit freely at lunch, nor can we have colored hair. This school has a good education system and some awesome teachers like 6th-7th grade teacher Mr. Weaver! One that your kids would like are that every grade has recess! But a negative thing I would say is that whenever you question a rule they have, they would say that its just a rule they have in the handbook and to not ask anything further. The new principal, Mrs. Smasal is not the greatest.. if im being honest, Mrs. Romero was the best. And dont get me started on the dean. He especially doesnt want you to question anything. This year for orientation, they had me and my family go into the office to talk. When we got there, he was saying how they have a new policy about attendance. He said that we can no longer miss any days of school at all. If we have 8 absences, we have to go to court. It doesnt matter if it is excused or not, it counts for one. Not just my parents, but many were upset. I am not going to go into detail but that is my take on this school. I would recommend if your child is gifted but if not, dont take your child.

Being a black American family I did not feel too welcomed here. Ive talked with other black families who has felt the same way. There are SOME teachers that love what they do and take it seriously. The pre k program was a disaster. I would never recommend you send you pre k child to this school. My experience with a prek teacher I felt like I could not connect with that teacher something just felt off about that teacher. Cant really say too much about the special education program because they got rid of it this year. Was told I can take my child to there other location that is 30min away from me. So overall I felt like me and my family were kicked out and discriminated against especially with the new principle. Youre going to see a lot less black families at this school. Be carful and protect your children.

This place is truly an amazing place! My children are being challenged in positive ways. Its also been a blessing to see their personalities really shine here. We love the events and talking to the staff. Mrs. Romero especially has been a key factor in the success of my children.

This school discipline policy does not align with the student code of conduct. The administration personally attack certain students whose parents question their alignment with the student code of conduct that was written by the leadership. They change the rules as they see fit. The nurse gave my son a medication that he doesnt take and I never gave the nurse permission to give my son any type of medication. Then another student didnt get their medication. The school covered it up and never apologized for this incident.
A student got foam soap on the mirrors in the bathroom and the school called it defacing which means to damage. How can you damage a mirror with foam soap? Then gave the student detention for the foam soap on the mirror. So parents and guardians be cautious before you send your children here.

My daughter is a kindergarten student in this school. I like everything about it, starting with the front office to the teachers to all of the staff members. She loves going to school, and enjoying learning, making friends, and having fun while getting educated.
