We have been at this location since opening in 2022 and have seen and faced disparities starting after 2023 school year (after 1st grade). There is unfair punishment for students of certain race. Some get reflections for very bad acts while others get ISS for defending themselves against known aggressors. Would not recommend for a student entering after the 3rd grade that knows that every should be treated fairly.

Our experience at BASIS Jack Lewis Jr. has been truly exceptional this year. First grade has been such a positive and transformative time for our family. The teachers are incredibly supportive, attentive, and dedicated to each students growth. At the beginning of the year, our child was starting below grade level and needed extra support. The teachers immediately stepped in with thoughtful instruction, encouragement, and clear communication. They provided targeted help while also building confidence and independence.
Because of their consistent support and high expectations, our child not only reached grade level but is now excelling academically. We have seen tremendous growth in both skills and confidence.
We are so grateful for the caring, structured, and academically strong environment at BASIS Jack Lewis Jr. It has made a meaningful difference in our childs learning journey.

In my opinion, it seems like a detention center. The homework is extensive and very stressful. The school makes every one of their events about donations. The events are mediocre.
This school is not big enough to have Pre-K to 9th grade. They do not serve breakfast and they rely on catered lunches because they dont have a full functioning cafeteria.
There is a high turnover on their faculty and staff. Its as if they thrive on giving more than manageable homework to overstress the students. No school/home balance, whatsoever. I hope to pull my child out at the end of this semester.

There is not enough space to detail the issues this faculty has involving any child who is different than their desired cut-of-the-mill child. The faculty will YELL at children. They will berate and scream at children for being children. If your child needs any help, it will be a horrid experience. I would happily give details. I sent an email to the administrators to help detail issues, they refused to listen or respond.

My wife observed the issues first hand. She had volunteered to help watch during lunch. She saw 3-4 second graders goofing off by putting salt into their water bottles. Long story short, my wife steps in to stop the silliness, no issue; however, when my wife told the teacher that the students need to rinse out the water bottles. The teacher started to scream at the students.

Student needs to pee at the end of the day? Nope. You are not allowed to use the restroom after dismissal or near dismissal time.

Stay away. Their goal to push students to be the best, is admirable. They do not know what they are doing. This is coming from someone (me) who have a masters and extensive experience in teaching in this field.

Most of the teachers leave this school. One of the deans didnt listen to my childs cheating scandal even though 5 kids went against the one who cheated. Teachers leave left and right.

My son attended for his kindergarten year. He spent most nights in tears frustrated with homework. He carried a 90 percent average nonetheless, but was constantly frustrated by the work. When I mentioned to his teacher that despite his grades he was well behind his sisters at this age she said why do you worry so much. Basis was an improvement on public schools in Texas but I had to pull him to homeschool and catch him up on where I understood he should have been. A year on and he is a totally different child outside of this environment -thriving and happy. Like his sisters he participated in nationwide standardized tests and where post basis he posted a score in the 38th percentile, he is now exceeding 89 percent of his peers. To me, this speaks not to my efforts, but to the large class size and inability of the school to ensure the class is really learning instead of just succeeding on class led worksheets.

This school is going down hill. Started off great but can't seem to keep teachers. They quit so much throughout the year it make the learning inconsistent! My child has gone through 4 chemistry teachers this year. Expect to have a ton of work and no out of school balance for your children. They constantly ask for donations for their teacher funds. Which is great (if we kept teachers)
