My kids have been attending this school since 2018. Coming from a different state, I was a little nervous about moving to a small-town school, but over the years, we have had a wonderful experience.
I’ve always been able to communicate with their teachers, and because my kids are in the dual education program, they have had the opportunity to learn from some truly amazing teachers. I especially appreciate the smaller class sizes compared to other schools, as I feel it allows the teachers to give each student more individual attention.

I currently have two children left at this elementary school, and one of the things I appreciate most is how welcoming the staff is. My kids can walk down the hallway and be greeted with a smile and by name. Those little things really make a difference and help make the school feel like a community.

Overall, the staff members have been amazing, and we have been very fortunate to have had such a positive experience. There have been a few staff members over the years who were not the right fit, but thankfully, they are no longer there. The teachers and staff who remain truly care about the students, and I’m grateful my children have had the opportunity to attend this school.

Where to begin.. let start with the Meet the teacher, we are new to the area and the first impression with the administration was not great, you could tell they weren't happy to be there, My 2nd graders Teacher is amazing, but the students are extremely mean and disrespectful I have lost count on how many times we have gotten messages about the student being disrespectful AND inappropriate comments and that we need to have a talk with our kids, we have even gotten messages about phone usage during class. When my 2nd grader never had issues before with making friends with anyone and now has a hard time making friends and coming home crying about the kids being mean and there's nothing that is really done. Then there is my 4th Grader... The 1st teacher we had she was rude and really didn't care what we had to say and was not welcoming, our son is Autistic and we needed to have more then a 2 second conversation with her and she really did not care what we had to say about him she was more worried about shoving papers in our face and going on to the next so right there we knew that there was going to be an issue. then not even a week or two into the school year my 4th grader had pooped himself (multiple student apparently) and with him being at a new school and with his autism he will not speak up and didn't know where to go, he did try and clean himself up but it was everywhere, it was clear on video that he not only pooped himself and its was down his leg ALL the other kids were complaining and NOT ONE STAFF MEMBER OR HIS OWN TEACHER did anything so he SAT in his own facies from just before lunch until after school when we got home we were obviously LIVID he was then transfer to another class and this teacher is amazing to him. But again there is issues with the bulling and disrespectful kids in his grade as well, we have had a lot of issues with him coming home and having major melt downs. With the whole absence thing they want your kids to have as much schooling (100% agree with it) but you can't get your child after 2 you have to wait for dismissal i'm sorry but if I want my child I will get my child, I do not care if its the rule they are my children not yours I will get MY children. The office staff are extremely rude every time we've come into contact with them, they are clearly miserable and hate their jobs. Next year IF we are still in the same neighborhood I will be homeschooling. There is so much more I can say but I have reached my limit of words.

Horrible school! As others have mentioned, the leadership here is greatly lacking. I was recently informed that not only have several teachers refused to return to this school next year due to the negative environment, but several of the office staff are leaving. The school district is clearly burying their head in the sand by ignoring teachers putting transfer requests in instead of doing something about the principal. If they think the teachers will just stay if they don't get to transfer, they are crazy. These teachers are just going to leave the school district and you already can't fill positions!

The current "leadership" (and I use that term loosely) at this school provides a toxic environment for the staff and students, and it all starts with the principal. Students are failing, and not just a few! This principal is working on his doctorate, with plans to become a superintendent, when he cannot even run a school! He keeps losing good teachers because of the environment and lack of support to the staff. I have had my kids in different schools, in different districts, and this school is absolutely the worse! If you are considering this school, talk to the moms of current students. IYKYK

This is my family members school and she loves it! Her teachers are great and communicate very well about what is going on. My sister gets a lot of info from the “Square” a new communication system. She also likes the PTA is trying to step up.

As other reviews have said, they victimized my children as well. One of my children is special ed and would come home with bruises from her behavioral "restraints". They were not special ed professionals the way that I expected them to be. My oldest girl got bullied severely physically attacked by boys and rumors spread by girls. Typical behavior of kids but what I didn't expect is the teachers to not do anything about it, victim blame and treat my child as the bully with consequences. I also didn't expect the teachers to believe the rumors and act like high schoolers. This is an elementary school; it's supposed to be fun and a happy positive environment. They targeted by oldest and made her sit alone in the cafeteria about those rumors making her a bigger target. They even told her to stop telling students the rumor. All three of my children didn't learn hardly anything this school year. A lot of off-task events happened during this whole school year that caused my kids to miss a lot of school due to bullying. The principal slandered my kids and would shame them as if they were the bad ones. Overall, don't take your kids here. Especially if you are slightly tan or of color. Even the teachers would racially slur my kid's friends.

Where do I begin…second day of school, my son was put on the bus instead of taken to the afterschool program. This was after no less than 2 previous emails and 2 direct calls to both the teacher and transportation advisor. I could have still let that go as first week jitters, but, they had the nerve to tell me it was my son’s fault for “getting on the wrong bus”. That was extremely unprofessional for a school that just messed up that badly and also, a complete fabrication. My poor son was terrified when I was not there to get him, thankfully, he was smart enough to tell them they were wrong and get back to the school. That was only strike one. Then, I noticed my son struggling with his schoolwork, so, I asked for some practice sheets or something to help me teach the curriculum at home. I was told they do not have anything like that and would not provide anything like that, ever. After asking for a weekly report of my sons behavior/progress, I was told, by 2 different teachers, “we don’t really have time for that”. Now, I get that too a point, but, I wasn’t asking for a novel, just a quick update on his behavior and progress so I could work with him at home. That should be something a teacher can provide for a parent, easily. The bus driver was rude to my son specifically and when I brought this up to the transportation department, their response was “so you don’t want to follow our policies?”. This was because the bus driver repeatedly asked my son to get off the bus, after being seated, then get to the back of the line because he didn’t have a bus tag which was not provided to us yet! The final straw for me was when my son damaged his pair of headphones in class. Let me preface by saying that I previously provided 3 pairs of headphones for him and/or other students that may need them. The teacher asked me to purchase another pair to replace the pair that he purchased. When I explained that I had already provided many pairs, I was met with extreme attitude and spoken down to. The teacher treated me like I was a child misunderstanding how school supplies work. On top of all that, there were many instances of bullying that were blamed on my son when he was the victim and/or not dealt with at all, that’s unacceptable! All of this was within the first 3 months of school. I took my son out of this school and transferred him into a public Montessori school. Stay away from this school unless you absolutely have to have your kids go there!

My child had only been to one other school in his life, of course this was a difficult change. I had high hopes and expectations about the school as I met both the principal and the assistiant principal at open house. My child was bullied the entire school year, However, when I would report the incidents, I would get all the things my child was doing wrong. Also, after so many attempts to get the bullying resolved, the staff wanted to speak to me about my child and possible ADHD, What a huge disappointment. There were a substiute teacher in my child classes multiple times a week the entire school year. By far this wasn't a good envirnoment or a good experience for me or my child new school. I feel more needs to be done to get the students and teachers what is needed to have a successful school year. I very happy my child is no longer attending Cooper.

Had great expectations for enrolling my child as she has special needs and felt the school would be more accommodating. However, my daughter is extremely behind failing clas and constantly gets bullied. According to my child the bullying is dismissed by the teachers and instead of rectifying the matter with the other children they continue to victimize my child by making a daily behavioral chart as if the problem behavior stems from my child. To top it off, I received a call yesterday and I was asked why I did not help my child with their homework and why it was not done? I felt personally attacked and bullied myself as I know they do not call every child parents when homework is not done. I am a single parent and help my child when I can and doing my best. I do not know why the staff at Cooper feels the need to single out me and my child but this should not be acceptable!

This school needs help! The staff is awful and the principal has a terrible attitude with a lackluster approach on follow thru. This is my second year at this school and if I could have MOVED MY HOUSE I would be out of this schoo. There are a handful of great teachers, but overall it is not a good place. In 2012 half the teachers left to pursue other jobs due to the staff at this place. Avoid this school unless some serious admin changes are made!!!!

Great school...great teachers and office staff all around! My daughter's 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Andersen, as well as several other students in her class kept in touch with her after moving out to Round Rock! That is amazing to me, to us! And we are forever grateful to what this school did for our family upon leaving.
