My experience at this school was pretty good, there are many new teachers but from when I was in 6-7 grade they were all pretty good. Im now in 8th and again, many new teachers since many left after the HISD takeover. Overall a good school and would recommend.

Hogg has been a great school for our two children. My children have been at Hogg for 2 and 3 years respectively, and they have been challenged with rigorous pre-advanced placement courses, intertwined with the International Baccalaureate principles. Hogg also offers a variety of the arts and sports. The principal, teachers, and staff genuinely care about students. This school is the best kept secret!

My son has been saying for 2 years how he "hates" school (yet he is a A/B student!). Since joining Hogg MS, he actually enjoys school and has learned many new things. He has made many new friends as well as he still has his elementary friends who go there also. The principal, staff, and teachers all care about the students. Please don't let the score here keep you from visiting Hogg.

Hogg Middle School has made many adjustments to its structure. They have updated their technology now, and have gotten a new principal. They focus on education along with social skills and teamwork. The teachers are amazing. They have a great sports team and this is definately one of the best schools there are.

My daughter is in the 8th grade at this school and loves it. She is in all pre-ap classes and straight A student. My daughter has had to move often and been to many schools and these have all been ranked 9 or 10. She was scared to come to this school in the beginning and now just comes home so happy every day and doing so well. She loves the teachers, principals and Ap's. She says the kids are very nice and welcoming more so then previous schools. Don't let the ratings scare you. My daughter loves it she is applying for Carnegie, HSPVA, DeBakey, and others and stands a great chance in getting in. The teachers give her lots of positive attention and the principal is hands on with students an amazing. Go Razorbacks!!!

This is my first year here and so far every thing is great The teacher the students every thing. 2 me its a very good school Every thing is good. NOW THE BAD THINGS: It's detention for every thing. No shirt tucked in detention, so u only have 3 minutes 2 get 2 next period 2 me that's fine I already have the schedule down my memory. They say around next week they are going 2 start tarty bells lot something. So the teachers lock their door and if ur late guess wut the office and there guess wut u get..... DETENTION!!!!!! Siriously detention for every thing

This school needs building improvements. The outer-wing science lab has a crack in the wall. You can look through the bricks and see sunlight come through. The technology is old and out-dated. There are no lockers anymore because of disciplinary and safety issues. Students throw trash everywhere but the trash can. Cell phones are used more often than textbooks. This is definitely one of the worst middle schools around.
