My experience at Wheatley High School has been frustrating. It often feels like the school is more focused on avoiding complaints or making sure there are no problems on paper than addressing the problems students are actually experiencing.
There are serious concerns that need attention, including dirty classrooms and reports of rats or signs of rodents in ceilings and walls. Students deserve a clean, safe, and comfortable environment where they can focus on learning.
Another issue is the quality of instruction. In some classes, it feels like teachers are mainly handing out assignments rather than actually teaching or explaining the material. Students need teachers who are willing to teach, support them, and make sure they understand what they are learning.
I also feel that certain students are treated differently. There have been situations where it seems like the principal focuses on or singles out particular students instead of addressing issues fairly and consistently.
The school should prioritize student safety, cleanliness, quality education, and fair treatmentnot just making sure there are no visible complaints. Students deserve better, and these concerns should be taken seriously.

If this school isn't closed down by the time I become an adult, I will climb the corporate ladder and do it myself. PREVIOUS STUDENT.

This school is the armpit of all HISD. These kids read, write and perform math on a 6th grade level and some cannot even do that. Please TEA of TEXAS. Save this school and do what clearly HISD could not.
