creekwood is a good school when it comes to helping students with emotional, mental health problems, and disabilities because there are a lot of staff members that help out. they say they support students and stuff, and sometimes it actually does help, but other times it feels more like they’re just saying it. as a current student at cms (creek wood middle school), i’m staying vand won’t be saying who i am or what grade i’m in, but i don’t really think the teaching skills are that great. some classes be confusing, directions aren’t clear, and it feels like we’re just supposed to figure everything out on our own without real help.

and a lot of times nothing really changes after.

the safety is okay i guess, but it’s kinda questionable. there’s adults around, but things still happen, people talk about feeling safe, but it doesn’t always match what actually goes on in the halls and classrooms. the school tries to make it look safe and supportive, but it doesn’t always feel that way for real, which makes it kinda hard to trust. kids are nice there and stuff!

The teachers here were great when my daughter was in middle school last year. She really excelled because the teachers gave her the time of day to help when she was struggling. She has a great group of friends she met there, great overall environment.

Not much busy work but what is assigned has enough rigor to actually result in extended learning.

We have had amazing teachers by and large; Ms. Farmer, Luna, Hunt, Zeller, Polanco, Brogdon, Manzoor, McRary, and Mr. Buck, Block, Tagliabue among others were AWESOME! Rigor-based and student-centered teachers that genuinely care about every student and exemplify professionalism and instructional excellence.

Mr. Winicki and Ms Overracker are amazing and completely student-focused and engaged. They made the school welcoming and feel safe for both students and teachers. Amazing leaders. As is Ms. Gantt, Sheets and others.

If you're looking at middle school zonage... Here's your school. Creekwood (CMS) contains a mixed economic group (Low to Upper). The school has great teachers wanting to help the kids not just pass, but make exemplary scores. The administration is fantastic at their job, and keep the school running very smoothly. As for the kids, they are very well behaved (For The Most Part ;) ) and are challenged daily in their classes. The problem that people complain about at CMS is the curriculum, but what most fail to realize is the curriculum is taught based on what the state/district says to do. Teachers have little freedom/time to teach lessons not assigned by the district. What makes CMS better than Riverwood? Well, having kids who have gone to both schools, Riverwood is much more snobby than Creekwood. The economic classes are not as wide in difference and therefore if your kid does not have the latest and greatest expensive things, they will complain, and not be "cool." Both schools are excellent schools though, (that feed the same high school) but one is more diverse and a better environment, and that is.. Creekwood.

The school is amazing. My older daughter who is a Senior in high school went there from 6th - 8th grade and now my younger daughter is in 6th grade at Creekwood. The Principal Mr. Winicki is awesome with the students he is a great role model and leader of the school. The program is great - great band, great athletics, great teachers!! Test scores are high to prove the great work they are doing!
