The school is pretty good, the teachers here are good, the school just needs more police officers on campus to keep students and staff safe from violence and fighting.

I have 2 kids at AMS. My oldest is in 8th grade and gets bullied everyday. They fail to protect him when its clear hes being picked on. I have 2 older kids who also went to AMS who were also the victims of bullies. These teachers are too afraid to confront the behaviors of the bad kids and their even worse parents. This school sucks and Humble ISD in general is the worse for your kid. Look at the rating per subject. The majority of kids in Humble ISD are always failing math.

PARENTS AND OTHERS DO NOT SEND YOUR KID TO THIS SCHOOL YOU WONT LIKE IT AS THERE ARE FIGHTS AND EXTREME AMOUNTS OF PEOPLE BEING RACIST AND FIGHTS AND WORST PART IS THE TEACHERS HAVE FAVORITES AND THEY HAVE A VERY VERY VERY BAD SYSTEM OF IDS WHERE IF YOU DONT HAVE A ID THEN YOUR KID IS LEFT OUT TO EAT LAST IN LUNCH FOR ONLY 3 MINUTES AND YOUR KID HAS TO BE WITH A SPECIFIC TABLE LIKE ELEMENTARY SO PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE ITS A NIGHTMARE AND MOST OF THE STUDENTS ARE VERY RUDE AND MAD

This was our first year at a Texas school, I chose to bring my child to AMS instead of a school in our zoned district. My son was beat up in the boys locker room and in PE class by larger boys multiple times. The principal suspended my son!!! He has never in his life been in a fight. The AP told me over the phone I was not allowed to file a police report, in person she stated she did not mean to insinuate that. She did not protect my son at all. He had his belongings stolen out of the locker room and nobody was punished. The locker room is not being watched by the teachers. This is a highly dangerous school. Do not send your children here. We have filed a formal complaint against this place and the AP specifically

My child goes to this school and is currently in 6th grade. The school is making many unnecessary rules and put children in in school suspension(ISS) or detention over things that make no sense but do not punish kids when it is necessary. The safety in this school is horrible and there are many fights a day.

As someone who went to ams, I can confirm I learned almost nothing. My self esteem going into high school was basically nonexistent and I was scared to even show my face when I wasnt with my friends. My younger brother goes there now and he said there are a bunch of ridiculous new rules that are supposed to help us, when really all it does is hinder our confidence and empowers our rage. 0 out of 10, do not recommend.

This school was horrible. My son attended AMS for two years and was bullied the entire time. He was very much part of the clubs offered there and managed to gain friends, but there were those who would torment him during PE because he wasn't athletic enough. The help app was the worse thing ever to be introduced in that school. The fact that a student can make an anonymous tip as a way to play pranks was outright terrible. I mean at least track who is leaving the tips to stop that type of behavior. I have never had a problem at any other school other than Pine Forest and AMS. And the 'No Place for Hate' is definitely not followed through. I mean why advertise how committed you are to keeping the school bully-free if you don't actually follow through...

The staff and teachers seem to do the minimal when it comes to helping the students. They dont seem to know how to help the students truly succeed. When the students have a hard time, which will happen because they are still kids, the teachers just seem to shift the blame all to the students instead of finding effective ways to help them. When a child is failing as a teacher it would seem that they would reach out to the child and the parent to see why, instead they find reasons why they are not to blame and make excuses why they cannot meet with the parents to address the problem. If a child fails you have failed as a teacher. I have not met a passionate teacher there yet.

My daughter was never over loaded with homework. It was rarely in more than one subject.

The teachers and staff seem to care very much. But as with most schools, the bullying is still a problem.

Almost every teacher my daughter had this past school year seemed to genuinely care about her and her success in school. (6th grade)

I think this is a great school. Our introverted daughter has lots of friends and there are many activities for the students to participate in. The staff is well organized and I feel that they genuinely care about the success of our kids. Also our daughter loves the school.

This school is okay, but some of the students are rude and vulgar, and so are some teachers on some instances. But overall its not to bad, but I am not looking forward to being in AMS another year.

Attending AMS was the most horrible experience of my life. I know for a fact I am not the only one. My two sister also had an extremely difficult time here. I was tormented by students and teachers on a daily basis. I had difficulty in math, but instead of helping me teachers simply told me I was hopeless and unintelligent. I entered high school scared, with no self esteem, and feeling unprepared. I just wish mine and my sisters experience was more positive, but it was not.
