Our experience at Willow Creek was overall negative. We had a few awesome teachers, but we also had some really terrible ones. I did not have good experiences with the front desk admin, registrar, principal, and a few teachers. The environment was generally toxic and Im glad my kids are out of there now. Do yourself a favor and dont go here. Itll save you a lot of stress and therapy for your kids.

Unhappy parents and teachers = unhappy kids and I feel like thats what we dealt with here. I know you hear a lot about teacher turnover everywhere but it was definitely present here. Plus some members of the community ganged up and pretty much ousted the principal who we really liked. Some of the teachers have been here a long time and are wonderful but sort of keep their heads down and just try to focus on the kids. Some of the teachers and staff are overbearing, unhappy or just downright rude. Most of the kids were great and my kids made lots of friends here, but every class seemed to have one child that had major behavior problems and had to go to the principal a lot, and would eventually get assigned a staff member full time which would help but not fully alleviate the issues. Academically the school is strong and focused on trying to make sure the kids learned the curriculum. Overall it is a solid school in the most affluent neighborhood in the district, but not without its problems.

This school has issues with behavior problems and how they are handled. You would think living in a decent neighborhood would mean decently behaved students, but we have never seen and heard such disrespect for teachers and vulgar talk from children.
The bullying that is allowed to go on especially in the upper grade levels is shocking. The principal seems to be scared to face the parents of these children who ruin entire grade levels. The parents of these children are also the same ones who will be the first to say their child never has any problems and the school is perfect.
Our children have to listen to screaming fits and watch physical violence in their classroom on a daily basis. These kids kick walls, throw things, assault teachers and other students, and disrupt learning. Some of these children seem to be in a special program but most seem to be in the classroom daily for the teachers to deal with while trying to educate our children.
The playground is a rough scene where children make fun of and exclude other children as well as lots of aggressive behavior. We have tried to focus on the sweet families and children and not let the bad apples ruin everything but it is hard.
The teachers are hit or miss. We have had some amazing teachers and some just okay teachers. Academics are okay but I wouldnt say they are challenging. It is also hard to tell if its because the teachers deal with so many behavioral issues that it takes away from learning time.
The positives are that it is not Houston ISD, the new assistant principal seems wonderful, and the neighborhood that the school is in is beautiful. We also appreciate our school board making good decisions like allowing students to attend school during the pandemic and getting rid of the mask mandate quickly enough. Our superintendent is very big on safety and has thankfully stepped in with this elementary school for the lack of following safety procedures. We are hopeful this will improve the school where it is lacking.

I see no one has reviewed WCE in a while... I have been nothing but impressed with the school in the four years we have been here. The teachers and administration are outstanding and the parents seem to be very supportive of the school community. My daughters have both been very happy here and have made some good friends. When it became clear that one of my girls would need classroom modifications, teachers came to her aid before a 504 plan had even been formally established. Administrators are friendly and know each child by name (and recognize their parents on sight), which lends to a very secure campus. Cannot recommend highly enough!

We just moved to Kingwood over the summer and enrolled at Willow Creek a few weeks ago. We have been met with such amazing enthusiasm. The parents, teachers and administrators have made the transition for my 1st and 2nd graders absolutely seemless. Both of my kids have been invited to Playdates and a group of moms found me and took me in as if I have been here for years. I am so completely thrilled with the new school and the new neighborhood. Thank you Great Schools for helping us make the decision on where to settle our family.

I have a child that is very interested in math and science and she happens to be a girl. Willow Creek does not offer a community that is interested in helping girls achieve in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Sciences. My child was bullied by the other students and the teaching staff for wanting to excel in math and science. She was also bullied in the lunch room by classmates who tried to put food containing wheat on her so she would break out in a rash. The staff did nothing to prevent this so I consider them willing participants. She made great grades and she scored well on all of her benchmark and star test but was unhappy. The community of Kings Point is known for it's keeping up with the Jones atmosphere and the parents attitudes is reflected in the kids behavior. It is so sad that we are not celebrating and following the child, in a progressive program, built for the way children learn. Our public school seems to be holding dear to old stereotypes and looking at state mandated benchmarks as "achieving excellence." I cannot believe I am spending tax dollars for such a backward looking educational program.

We are just finishing our first year at WCE. We have three kids there: K,3,5. It is a very sweet school...not perfect, but all of my kids are so happy there. The teaching is solid (great for gifted kids too). The parents are involved, but certainly not psycho like some of the other posts inferred. The families we have gotten to know are deeply kind and good people. We have lived in Kingwood for 7 months and it feels like years because of the quality of friendships we have enjoys. Don't hesitate to send your kids there. And a comment at Riverwood Middle School that this school feeds into: our oldest daughter LOVES it. Imagine moving and starting a new school in 7th grade and loving it! Enough said.
