This school is the most parent unfriendly school I have ever been to. There are several guidelines in place that prevent parents from accessing there children and they just generally don't seem to care about how there staff enforcing these guidelines affect not only parent teacher relations but also the trust of child. Additionally this school does not offer school bus transportation nor does it offer an option for car riders. All students must be picked up by their parents in designated lines outside the office. This may not seem like a big deal however when parents have multiple kids to pick up from different designated areas, it can be chaotic. Not to mention, this requires parents (and may times younger siblings and infants) stand outside in extreme weather ontop of the cluster it creates in the parking lot with an entire school work of parents trying to find parking in a parking lot that was simply not designed with this method of school pick up or drop off. Comically enough it set up with a carpool type design that is not being utilized. The only reason why I have not removed my child from this school already is because he truly does enjoy his teacher however if a school employee tries to deny me access to my child again, I will make tough decisions as needed. 10/10 if you have the option to have your child attend another school, i would strongly suggest considering it. The principle is the downfall of this school being great.

Students are given 20 minutes for lunch, only if the teacher gets them there exactly on time. Recess is cut short to twice a day for Prek 3 & 4, to ten minutes max- again only happens if teacher can get class there on time. Kindergarten is limited to one recess for 15 mins max as well. If they can't fit in, they don't get one. 2nd and 3rd grade are lucky to receive a 15 min outdoor recess if it can be fit in with their jam packed schedule of learning all day- no breaks other than for specials. Lunch is also encouraged for eating only. If your child can open it and staff don't see their needs, they don't eat.

Admin is more concerned for test scores, rather than the focus being on the whole child (to include their emotional and mental well being).

Don't expect family being invited in, nor any fun parties. Doesn't fit in their learning schedule.

Reading & writing skills are atrocious. Not sure why they use the curriculum they have for it. But math and science skills are above par- which is exciting to see kids as little as preschool age use mature math terms and can explain the reason for it. That's been impressive. Teachers are nice too, so that is a plus.

The VP's are new and are great. I highly suggest working through issues with teachers first then calling in the VP and counselor. You won't get through to Ms. Dart- the principal.

It's a small niche school too, so if your child is a trouble maker or high needs, he or she will be labeled as such.

Ms Dart is terrible. I'm so thankful for the counselor Ms Sampson. Ms Sampson is a saint and that woman truly loves her job and helping others.

Thankfully the teachers that my child has had have been wonderful and the counselor is amazing. Overall the leadership (Ms Dart - principal) is absolutely terrible. Ms Dart is disrespectful to students, parents, and even staff, this I have witnessed with my own eyes and ears. I truly feel that this school would be better with a better principal to be a great leader.

My child has had 3 great teachers from PreK 3,4, and Kindergarten. Now the Principal Ms Dart is terrible. Extremely rude to the children, speaking to them harsh and with no pleasant tone. Ms Dart never has any time for the parents no matter the issue, how little or big she doesn't want to deal with parents.

The administration is horrible. The principal and vp have no patience, empathy for the students or parents. The administration is very unorganized, snatch up children by their arms. There is no pta, no holiday celebrations. Drop off in the morning is horrible. Children are left hungry at lunch if they cannot open their food. 3 and 4 year old are left to walk to class by themselves. Children are afraid of the office administration. This is far the worse school my children have ever been to.

We have attended this school for two years now and all I can see if the teachers do not have a heart for teaching. Im aware that its a job. But the teachers quickly label a child that needs a little extra help or attention as a "troubled" child and will "island" the child for the entire year and forget about trying to help the child succeed. The Principle and Vice Principle pretend to care and offer help but the situations never get resolved. Its a constant battle for my child to be treated fairly and the two teachers my son has had both lie outright. His first grade teacher threatened school suspension(for a talking child) directly in front of many other parents and when the issue was brought up she lied and said that never happened till another parent stepped forward and informed the school office as well. Worst student care ever at this school.

The vice principles and principle have no regards of the children's needs or the parents requests!! It's all about their staff. This is worst school by far we have ever seen. If I could give any advice I would tell new parents to steer clear of this school if you don't want to go crazy and you want your child to hate school! They need a new staff in the office mainly the stuck up principles that if they want to act all high and mighty then they need to do it at a college not a elementary school. Trying to move my kids to another school because they are not educated enough to meet the parents needs to help children!

We really like the teachers here. My kids have been attending this school going on their 3rd school year. I do see a difference in attitude with the office staff. Not too friendly with parents and the children. I've witnessed the counselor push the back of my child's head to hurry her to class. I did not appreciate that and on top of that had to set an appointment to make a complaint to the principal or assistant principal which did not get resolved. We get attitude from the counselor now and she no longer greets good morning. Other than that the teachers are really great. Never had an issue with any of them and my children come home with new things they learned everyday

My Daughter has been going here for almost a year total now and the problems with the school keep multiplying. Our neighbor's son (5 years old) was dropped off at school inside the building and somehow (Miraculously not the school's fault) managed to walk outside the school, across the drop off lane, through the parking lot and across Comanche Avenue...back into residential housing. The child was unaccounted for until he found his way back home to a shocked mother. Our neighbor stormed back to the school to demand answers and received only belittling comments from the Vice Principal and was told that it was her fault, she was a bad mother and that the school would assume no liability. We reacted normally and took extra steps to make sure the same didn't happen to our 4 year old Daughter and were scolded by staff when we remained near the school until our Daughter was physically received by staff members. Now the tip of the iceberg as surfaced, the school went into lock down, gave no explanation of why and refused to release students to their parents. Under the Texas Penal Code, a parent has the civil right to possession of their child, this right cannot be abrogated.

The school principal and vice principal cannot be bothered with parent concerns. My child has been bullied two years in a row at the school and nothing has been done about it. The principal blamed me saying I dropped the ball. When my child got mad after being knocked to the ground he got in trouble for throwing something. They refused to talk to my child with me their, the principal flat out refused, but after I left she apparently with hands on her hips told my son that he was the one at fault

Clarke Elementary This is by far one of the worst schools that I've seen throught out our 20 year military career. We have 4 children, from high school to elementary, educated through out the country. I was never allowed to meet with the principal to address concerns; only the assistant principal(AP) would be available. After I've meet with the teacher and AP you would think I would be able to meet with the principal. This environment DOES NOT care about educating all of their students. They care about their friendships with their teachers. When I caught up with the AP in the office, one of the office worker ran off to tell the teacher what I was discussing with the AP (How unprofessional) First graders(FG) have homework maybe twice a month, sight words every night. The teacher is inconsiderate and selective about whom they want to educate. FGs are picked up everyday afterschool from the teacher. I would ask what should we work on and can you give us additional worksheets. I was like pulling teeth to get extra worksheets. But when progress report or report cards came out she wanted to fail my child. I have never seen a teacher so intent on seeing a child fail. Shame on you!

my kids attended this school in 2008-2009. This is an adequate school, one of the better in the area. I would like to see all the schools on post improved, and I don't mean throwing money at them. I think it would take some stress off of families if the school environment was just a bit better.

I have a child in KG and one in 1st grade. I really like the teachers.
