This school has been a struggle for my kids and I. Unfortunately a majority of the staff are rude, unsupportive, talk to the kids ugly and have an obvious I do not care or want to be her attitude. There are quite a few fights and the security measures in place are little to none. If I could do it again I would not have had my children attend this school.

My experience with this school has been amazing. I've had children at this school long enough to experience the lows and highs. I've watched it grow and flourish. I've watched children with serious learning disabilities get AB honor roll because of the hard work and dedication of the teachers and other staff. I've seen the excitement in the eyes of children who thought they'd never pass the STAAR find out they passed. This school definitely had some growing pains early in (2010ish), but it has done nothing but flourish since then!!! The teachers and staff are amazing, compassionate people. They truly love what they do! My child has done so well at this school. She's never made anything less than an A and has only missed 8 questions on all of the STAAR combined from 3,4,5 grades. This is because of the teachers.

Depending on the teacher, homework is given weekly.

Teachers at this school are amazing. They are so passionate about teaching. They often face challenges that they overcome with, empathy, understanding, compassion, and a bit of creativity.

They use programs like the Early Act First Knight to encourage students to build string character traits.

The leadership at this school continues to grow. They are effective and knowledgeable. They know their students by name and love each of them.

Teachers here are really good at identifying the differences in learning abilities of their students. Aides frequently come into the class to give students more one on one time with their teacher.

My only personal experience with bullying at this school was handled swiftly. Everyone has a different experience with this and the while school has a zero tolerance for bullying, it does still happen.

I am the grandparent of a grandchild living with me. My grandson attends Willow Springs Elementary. I am very happy with his teacher. She cares about him and he is really learning this year. We are also greeted with a smile and a "Good Morning" every day. I am happy and proud that my grandson can attend such a good school!

This is an amazing school. The commitment to serving the students, parents, and community cannot be denied. The teachers and staff are friendly and are truly dedicated to the education of the students of Willow Springs. I am thrilled to be a part of such an organization.

At Willow Springs we promote a positive environment through engaging instruction, building relationships, and inspiring students. I would not want to work in any other school. I have worked at Willow Springs for many years and I love walking into the building everyday seeing everyone smile and having positive attitudes. We all work hard to make sure the students are getting the education they deserve but that's not where it stops. We make sure the students know we care and they are safe. Willow Springs is an AMAZING school!

Our school is meeting and exceeding every challenge it has been, and is faced with the last three years. Our staff has not had severe turnover rates and that has shown we are determined to be the best elementary school in the district and the entire state of Texas. Willow Springs fosters a caring, sharing attitude that produces positive change. Our leadership team is focused on the needs of our campus and encourages community involvement. There is a spirit of excellence here and we will continue to work to improve every area of our school from the early morning opening bell to the last person that leaves each day. We are not counting the weekends and holidays that staff and faculty come to ensure target goals are in place for student arrivals. Thank you Willow Springs.

This is my fifth year teaching at Willow Springs. I could not ask for a better school to teach at! The staff is like family. The students are like my own! I go to school each day with the same enthusiasm as I did five years ago because of everyone at WSES! I would not trade my Willow Springs Family for anything!!!!! Our commitment to teaching goes beyond the classroom in all that we do!!

Willow Springs is an awesome school! My kids have excelled there. My son is now in all Pre-AP classes in middle school! My daughter is reading and learning at a high level! The staff and teachers are always friendly and helpful! It deserves a much higher rating than a 2 out of 10! It is at least a 6 or 7 out of 10 bar none!

BEST PLACE I'VE EVER WORKED! Awesome admin and staff! Things are turning around at WSES. A difference is being made by a great staff who cares :))

This school has been the biggest disappointment since moving here. In my child's case they have a great teacher. However, she is faced with too many students that do not know how to behave, so most of her time is wasted trying to get them to behave which takes away from the students who are really trying to learn. Also, students are not allowed to talk during lunch at this school because the teachers cannot control the noise level. Recess is short and the days are long. On top of all of this there is a lot of bullying going on. It makes for a long, grueling day for children. I hope they are able to correct these issues. My children will not be returning next year.

This is my child's second year attending here. I have been incredibly pleased! My child's teacher, Ms. Kunz, has been fantastic! She keeps us updated on everything! The principal has been so kind. We haven't had a single negative experience in dealing with any of the staff. Our child is excited to go to school each and every day. We really couldn't ask for a better school. It is incredibly disappointing to see some of the ratings. Please do not go off of the negative ratings though. Sadly, so many people do not have feedback until it is something negative. We really enjoy the area we are in. We're a short distance from the school. They do a phenomenal job at keeping traffic flowing even being near a very busy neighborhood. The neighborhoods surrounding the school have been quiet since we've lived here, and the kids friendly. The staff makes it a point to greet each and every student and parent each morning.

Willow Springs has had trouble in the past. But, that was in the PAST! It is under new leadership and has improved immensely. Willow Springs MET the standards for last year's STAAR test and will continue to do so! Willow Springs offers excellent opportunities for children to learn. It has opportunities for parent to become engaged in their child's education through volunteer opportunities, PTO, and a parent liaison. I am the parent of a 1st grader who attends here now and a 7th grader who attended here when it had issues. If given the opportunity to change schools when my 7th grader was at Willow Springs, I would have jumped at the opportunity. Now, I wouldn't want to change schools at all. Mrs. Pennington, the principal, is an outstanding leader who completely understands the needs of an elementary school. She is a leader who leads by example. She is always concerned about the well being of her staff, students and their families. She goes above and beyond to see to it that the needs for success are met. Please understand that the low rating on this website is primarily based on the PAST issues. No one can please everyone, but it definitely deserves a much higher rating now!

avoid THIS SCHOOL if you can , no homework , kids out of control , and allot of teachers, don't seem bothered by the lack of curriculum, fights, pants being pulled down cutting backpacks w/scissors, kissing in bathrooms, just do your research.

The staff has been increibly welcoming, polite, and helpful. Our daughter seems to be very enthusiastic about her "new school." We were a bit hesitant to send her here given the previous ratings and school's performance. However, there is a new principal is charge this year. They seem to be off to a fabulous start! They had a welcoming orientation prior to "Meet the Teacher" night for the pre-k group. That was wonderful for the parents to be able to see where their babies would be going. We were very happy about that. "Meet the Teacher" night is a bit busy. That would've been a bit overwhelming first school experience for these young children. They seem to take security very seriously with the children - 100% ID check which as a parent I appreciate tremendously. I've seen nothing but smiles from the kids. Looking forward to a super great year for our daughter!! The school is also very diverse which we can appreciate!!! What a wonderful learning opportunity to be with children of all different backgrounds!!!!!
