My daughters attend this school and will be entering their senior year. Both were well prepared for college and received scholarships. The advanced classes also allowed them to attain college credits.

A tremendously gifted and talented educational community! We are so blessed by our dedicated teachers who serve and support a tender age group. Our music staff goes above and beyond for us each and every day! The leadership is phenomenal. I can also sing the praises of our foreign language staff, our science program, our English program, as well as our math and history programs. My son is thriving and learning to be an independent student and thinker. The skills we have obtained from this school will definitely be remembered for a lifetime.

It is sad to say teachers, counselors, AP are not helpful. Students are falling through the cracks because of leadership neglect. Students stop attending school and no one in admin cares to contact parent and ask what the problem is or even do the research in kids that are struggling with classes. They care about winning in football and marching band nothing else matters.

CPHS has some very dedicated teachers, a few who have no business teaching, and at least two who should be let go. There is one teacher widely known for yelling at her classes every day - for years - who somehow remains. The school is also going through a rather tragic implosion in the theater arts program with an alarmingly ineffective director, and the recent mid-year departure of a rather effective and promising young theatre tech teacher. School leadership is fully engaged with the situation, but has not resolved it while the kids continue to suffer very high levels of distress. We are so alarmed at the how our child and other students have been suffering that we would not recommend any family submit their child to this school if the child has any interest or passion for theatre. Like all LISD high schools, CPHS openly appears to violate UIL limitations on summer and after-school practice time for marching band and other competitive programs. This wins UIL tournaments, but burns out the kids and deprives them of much-needed downtime. Also be aware that, while CPHS offers numerous AP courses, it and the rest of LISD fall way behind in foreign language learning. Comparatively few non-English world languages are offered in the high school curriculum; feeder middle schools generally offer only Spanish I to 8th graders only. This is a retrograde departure from other Austin area school districts (AISD and RRISD) that offer a range of world languages beginning as early as elementary school. If you live in the boundaries of this school or LISD in general, proceed with great caution for your kids.

3 kids over 5 years at this school. The band, and sports programs are great. Most of the teachers good. There are a few that hate teaching and it shows. Leadership at this school and the entire district sucks hardcore.

Far from innovative and far from focused on learning. Teachers check boxes and many are more focused on the sport they coach. Except for AP classes, work is designed to keep students busy. Lecture, watch a video, answer questions. Principal's priority is that students and staff like him. No instructional leadership.

CPHS is one of the best schools you can send your kids to. The teachers do a great job not leaving any kids behind, and getting these kids ready for college.

Stay as far away from this school as you can. You might hear high phrases from whoever. Please DO NOT believe a single word. The school is a nightmare. It turns it's student into overachieving psychos without giving them even the most elementary basics in any subject. More than half of the teachers at CPHS needed to be fired years ago, not being able to teach their students anything, and that holds true for core subjects and ALL electives. They either don't know their material or don't care, being ignorant while keeping their game face on. My kids and I never in our entire life hated anything more than this school. Be prepared that nobody there will give a pickle about your child other than you, and that is horrible. Again, do not even consider sending your student there, ever!!!

I am a black male in the 10th grade and I cannot stand this school there are many people that bully me and pick on me because of my race I am very disappointed in this school. The football coaches play favorites and if your not always donating to this school then you will not see any playing time.

This is more about the District than any particular school. Our schools and our teachers are very good. But before you decide to buy a home in Leander ISD do yourself a big favor and Google "Leander ISD Debt" or Leander ISD Capital Appreciation Bonds". You will quickly learn that as a District we are $3.7 BILLION dollars in debt. Whereas the state debt per student averages $13,000 Leander ISD debt per student is more than $100,000.00. LISD has the third highest debt in the state behind Houston and Dallas (and they each have many times the 35,000 students LISD has. Leander is the poster child for out-of-control debt and most of us are finding our property taxes (which average $6,000 per year) are causing the resale value of our homes to go down.

My son is freshman at this award winning high school. Very happy with both the athletic and academic departments. Focus is on well rounded students. Great community pride, will be sending my other two children through Cedar Park High School as well.

My son is a sophomore at Cedar Park and participates in their amazing marching band program. They won first place for 4A at the Texas UIL State Championships in 2011 and they have taught the kids to aspire to excellence. My son feels like the band is a family, and is so happy to be at Cedar Park. He says the school has a friendly and accepting culture and that he has never witnessed any bullying. (He had problems with bullies in middle school so we are thrilled he has found a good school home.) Academically we are very happy with the faculty here. They are very accessible and supportive. The kids at Cedar Park (at least the band kids) seem to be a well-parented, respectful, happy bunch of kids.
