We moved to Texas over Christmas break, and only had a few weeks before we close on our house. They would not let us enroll our child in school. While there one lady had the nerve to suggest I homeschool for the few weeks until we close on our house. Prior to our move I emailed the principal twice, but never received a response from her. In all our years moving with the military I have never once been treated like this. This school does not support military families or care about students.

If they had a 0 star I would give it to Marion Middle School. There is so much racist actions and bullying at this school it is unreal. The sad part is the principal fosters an environment that allows the kids to run the school because he has no backbone to stop it. It's sad because every time I drop my kids off there is a sign saying bully free zone but when my kids leave the car I know they are going into a terrible environment. I'm looking to move because of this school district. The state gave them a C and 3 D's in their A-F report. All administrators starting from the top need to be fired. Stay away from Marion if you care about your kids because this school district doesn't.

The principal at the middle school fosters and encourages bullying due to his lack of action. Bullying is so prevalent in the school one of my kids friends mentioned suicide because of it.

You can tell that the leadership of this school district from the board down is weak. I wanted my daughter to get zeros for homework she wasn't turning in and the principa refused to do it. He said he wanted to focus on kids doing work so I said have her do the work and give her a zero she needs to be held accountable for her actions and he insinuated I was a bad parent for wanting my daughter to get a zero for zero effort.

There are great kids at the school but they let the bad apples ruin it for others. They are constant distractions that affect the learning of others but the weak school administrators allow it to continue versus singling out the bad apples and working to change their behavior or hold them accountable for their actions.

The school district is horrible!!! The students run the campus because the administrators refuse to have any discipline in the school. The superintendent on down need to be fired. The teachers lack of control is consistent with an environment that puts kids feelings ahead of learning and discipline.

They do not even give kids books to bring home to study. The homework they do have is minimal at best.

My Son attended MMS 6-8 grades and he loved it! It's a small school with very caring Teachers and the opportunity to take advanced Math and English classes. A huge addition to the school for the 2013-2014 school year, is the new Science and Band buildings. Marion is an amazing small town with small town values and a great school system. I'm very happy that both of my boys attend MISD.

The class room spaces are not to par as the others in the school district as well as the cafeteria and the food it serves-most of the children don't even eat though they are on lunch programs. I visit my grand-daughter on a regular basis and know her curriculum. Hardly any offerings for advanced math and sciences and bullying of students are not addressed.
