My child’s first year here and I can tell you if you have a choice don’t. As a minority you will be treated differently unless you speak up and/ or a certain race. I’ve seen it and my child has witnessed it. The girls up front are nice but that’s where it stops. A close family friend has expressed their child attending this school as well has been sexually harassed and threatened and they still allow that student to stay in class with said child, against all communication. That’s a massive liability. Bullying has been an issue here since atleast 2020 when my eldest step daughter attended. Simple requests take weeks to get results even when it’s in the best interest of the child. Join the PTA and have money and someone might notice you.

This school only cares about the click rich group and their kids will get away with bullying and will be on all the A teams whether if they’re good or not as long as they’re popular and they have $$$$

Absolutely horrible worst athletic program I have ever seen at a school. Coaches need to be coaches and coach the students that want and have the desire to achieve their athleticism regardless of how much money your mommy and daddy make and if they’re in PTA or not! The most cliche school I have ever seen and my kid said he’s never seen anything like it before it’s awful the bullying. On a positive note he loves all his classes so far this year he’s in the 7th grade.

Homework isn’t so bad since they have an advisory period

My child said one teacher constantly rolled her eyes but other than that it was positive. If students recognize things like that then I believe it creates a negative learning environment and distraction.

Not good at all.
There is a lack of actually caring for the students themselves.
Only seems interested in 'pushing the agenda'.

Most done on an IPad, relies on internet connection and not "losing the privilege to use it ".

My daughter is leaving Oak Run this year to move on to New Braunfels High School. We are sad to not be a part of a great middle school like Oak Run any longer. The principal, Dr. Simmons, the front desk staff, the nurse, so many of the teachers will be fondly remembered for many years to come. We truly enjoyed our time at this wonderful school and will miss everyone.
