This school is a sad excuse for education. From the leadership down, there is no support and the kids/parents run everything. The students are getting worse by the year and it is honestly sad to watch this school deteriorate every year.

My child has been very successful at Eisenhower due to all of the opportunities shes been given, the supportive and engaging teachers, and a tremendous leadership in place. I can say that my child will be leaving middle school equipped, both socially and academically, for high school. Too many families are scared of middle school, but the teachers, coaches, and staff at Eisenhower have made all the difference.

My 6th grader, boy, has had a very positive experience at Ike! He comes home happy every day. The classes he is taking challenge him and have given him independence on getting his work done in class. There are so many opportunities for him to get involved in different electives they offer. The principle is involved and very present on campus.

I HIGHLY recommend Eisenhower Middle School. The Principal, Mr. Herrera, Assistant Principals, Ms. Canales and Ms. Berube, and Counselors, Ms. Shortt and Ms. Walker, are true servant leaders. They care deeply for the students and families at the school and strive to provide the very best environment possible for the students. Teachers are excellent and extracurricular options, such as sports, academic UIL competitions, PALS, NJHS, fine arts offerings -choir, orchestra, theater arts, band are far beyond what you will find at any private or charter school. IKEs Science, Math, and ELAR (English, Language Arts, and Reading) departments are especially strong. As an added extra, theres an element or service and character built into just about every part of Eisenhower. If you want your child to walk away from their middle school experience academically prepared for high school and college AND having developed a caring heart attune to contributing positively to the world, you cannot find a better middle school. Be aware - cell phones are not allowed during the school day. Phones must be in backpacks at all times or will be taken away. School minutes are valued and used for learning, interacting, and discovering!

Need more Special Education staff and Special Education teachers..My child needs one to one help when the kids do go to the Gen Ed classes for electives. Otherwise the school is not bad. My other, neurotypical child (6th grade going to 7th) says he doesnt get bullied at all. He even said to me that there are no bullies in school, that he knows of. So its been a pretty good experience for him. So far.

My son is moving on to Churchill and my daughter is still at Eisenhower (IKE). We've been at this school for three years. I can honestly say I do not recommend IKE. I am a former public school teacher.

Eisenhower has not taken steps to crush social media accounts run by students that are representing IKE. If you go onto any social media platform and search for Eisenhower, IKE, EMS you'll find accounts dedicated to Fights, Embarrassing Moments, Couples and more. IKE People is an instagram account that the school has yet to shut down that is run by a 6th grade child. This is unacceptable. It promotes pictures and posts while at school (a safe place for some) to be posted without permission. Videos of vaping while at school and the background is obviously IKE.

The cafeteria does not have enough supervision. Parents should be ENCOURAGED...no...BEGGED to volunteer to assist with this. Graffiti on desks and bathrooms should be removed immediately. My child has an album of inappropriate art around the school. Drop off in the morning. There needs to be cones. There needs to be more school representation outside. The amount of middle fingers that I have seen go up at drop off is insane. One of the district officers needs to be there at all times.

This school allows bullies that are out of district to attend. My son's bully does not live within district and is constantly absent yet he is allowed to stay at IKE. Children that have behavior issues and attendances issues should not be the exception.

The PTA is another issue. Very cliquish and lack of communication. Parents do side things for teachers and don't open it up to all. Give all of the students an opportunity to donate or help. Ask all of the parents. Stop asking the same people. I have the means to donate time and money and I'm always excluded. I have to fight for information. Clean up this school. It has amazing teachers. Some of the best I've ever seen. The education my kids are getting is top notch. Their mental and physical wellbeing is not a priority.

One last night. Let parents know before a lock down drill. Don't let us get texts from our kids not knowing if it's real or fake.

IKE is the best middle school for your child to learn real world experiences with kids from all walks of life. They learn to value community, life skills, and the meaning of true friendship. My daughter thrived at IKE and is now a mechanical engineer!

Eisenhower is a well rounded and diverse environment. It has a little something for every student. From Football to Robotics you can do it all. The teachers are passionate about their students and their success. The Choir Teacher, AV Tech Teacher, and ELAR Teacher at IKE are exceptional. The Administrators are quick to respond to any questions or concerns we have.

On several occasions we were advised to consider private school. I am so thankful we went with Eisenhower. My children have a diverse core friend group that pushes each other to succeed.

Middle School can be a scary milestone after finishing up at a smaller and very loving elementary school. Because of this, we decided to start our child at a private school for 6th grade. The experience that year was not what we expected as far as enrichment opportunities for student growth is involved. This led us to start at Eisenhower the following year. We discovered that IKE was very well rounded as it pertains to enrichment programs, academics, sports and clubs in a very diverse and inclusive environment. The teachers, administrative staff and the coaches are very supportive and show that they care about their students very much. The coaches, orchestra/band and theatre teachers, that are involved w so many of those enrichment programs, have provided so much extra encouragement and put in so many extra hours to assure all the kids are developing and excelling. We now have 2 of our children at IKE, and both kids and parents have been very happy and would recommend Eisenhower Middle School to others.

Eisenhower is a wonderful school. We were reluctant to send our children at first. We did have a backup plan but wanted to give it a try. Fast forward 3 years, my son is now finishing up his 8th grade year at Eisenhower, and we are filled with gratitude for his time there. Administration, teachers, coaches and all of the engaging extra curricular activities are top notch. My 6th grade students experiences have also been positive. We are so glad that we chose Eisenhower, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

The school is amazing. The teachers and staff really care for the children. I am impressed on how the teachers interact with the students and make sure their academics are on track. They have many opportunities for the students with theatre, art, band, strings, and sports. My children have enjoyed going to Eisenhower and excelled.

My kids have all gone to Eisenhower, my first is now a junior at UT, Austin and I will admit I was nervous about him attending IKE after some of the stories I heard, he did fine, no he did great! He had great teachers, he found his voice through the theater arts department went onto high school and did Speech, was the National Champion in Dramatic Interp, and he continues to do Speech at UT! It all started with his theater arts teacher at IKE!! My second never touched an instrument in her life, was taught the flute by two amazing band directors at IKE, went onto to be part of the Churchill Marching Band through all 4 years and now is in the Wind Ensemble at Trinity University, not as a major but because of her love for playing! This also, started with her music teachers at IKE! My third son is a current 8th grader and has found a passion for engineering which I will admit he only took the class because of the amazing teacher, and in doing his job, this teacher has opened my sons eyes to this whole new path to consider! My youngest is in 6th grade at IKE, his first year experience has been so different than my other kids, but he is thriving! He has joined the orchestra and loves his teacher who has done amazing things like have an outdoor Christmas concert so that her students had a sense of normalcy! He thinks his art teacher is cooler than any teacher ever too! Eisenhower has heart, the staff and the teachers and our new principal Mr. Herrera are on the fast track to making students feel like they are the top priority because they are! I will say I asked my kids why it didn't seem like they have much homework ever and every one of them said, teachers give you time to do your work in class because not everyone has a computer at home to work on mom, so they want to be sure all students have the same availability to complete assignments. I respect that. I think that if you are considering if you should or should not send your student to IKE you should visit the campus and meet with the administration and see what you are missing!

Eisenhower is an outstanding campus! Leadership communicates well with parents, and teachers are advocates for students. They have a variety of organizations like band, yearbook, athletics, PALs, etc.., so students have many ways to connect on campus.

We LOVE Eisenhower Middle School! My son is currently a 6th grader at IKE. I hope this review is helpful. Especially with the pandemic, I think its a challenge to research the schools. After toiling over the decision of where to have him attend middle school (STEM? KSAT? BASIS? Great Hearts? School Choice? Private?) Im extremely thankful we decided on Eisenhower! Heres Why:
* Outstanding community! The leadership at IKE, the teachers, the families in our larger neighborhood, the friendships from elementary have all been an extraordinary blessing in an uncertain time. This is our home and so very proud of it.
* A plethora of opportunities to meet the needs of my advanced student. I.e. GT English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR), GT/Honors Math, Tech Apps/Robotics, Science UIL, Chess UIL. Also, an AMAZING Orchestra program!
* Highly skilled and dedicated teachers that build rapport with students, truly care, and work hard to see that students succeed. (Ms. Jaquess, Ms. Hayes, Coach Moore, Mr. Smith, Ms. Delgado, Ms. Solano - all outstanding educators)
* Excellent communication and welcoming environment! The teachers, counselors, and leadership are all incredibly responsive to emails and phone calls. I also get lots of emails and text reminders from my students teachers. If I have a question or concern, I know it will be addressed. Also, thank you Principal Herrera for greeting my child each morning in the car drop off lane!
* The BEAUTIFUL diversity of this school. Do yourself a favor and ignore the number rating given to this school. Its truly unfair that schools with a diverse population of learners are penalized for serving the needs of ALL learners in a community. I value my sons quality of character and compassion for others above all else. So when he tells me he has made a hundred new friends at school and loves his teachers, I know for certain we have found the BEST middle school home.

I would rate my experience as horrible. I am so happy this will be his last year here. I would not recommend for students with special needs. This school is a joke. The structure provided by administration does not exist. Go ahead and report bullying, nothing will happen. Let people accuse your child of doing something they didn't do, and if your child is not capable of defending themselves because of their special needs, too bad its their word against your child's. I am not the only parent that has had issues with administration at this school. If you have a choice I would look into another school.

Bullying is a daily thing and done in many different forms by many different kids. There needs to be a different form of bullying control. Children are to sensitive today.

No special needs classes specifically designed for the individual needs of these kids. Not all these challenged kids are the same. Different rooms are needed that you do not have, and different teachers.

Leadership means examples and teaching. And in my students eyes they only see excuses, not examples and teaching. Allowing things that should not be allowed and making excuses for it instead of fixing it. And creating areas (special needsclasses) for kids that need those classes. Even if it is single rooms, or quiet rooms, or whatever. There are solutions to everything for everyone. Why becauae everyone is created dufferent. Especially those with challenges.

Son has IEP from another state, we moved here in August and not only is the bullying severe in this school and they do nothing much about it. But they will not except any of his licensed medical Documentations from the state we moved from. And getting the ARD set up to fit his specific needs is becoming impossible. They care nothing about the child, only about themselves. We cannot even get a report from any of the teachers weekly like we have asked. Or his special needs counseler. It is really bad. And he is always put in ISS by the VP, instead of them dealing with the main issues. Really bad school. Recently had new ARD and tried having him put where we felt he would be safer. He has had a really bad 1 yr and 3 months now and things are not getting better, seem to be getting worse. But they insist on exhausting there resources first. So my son can suffer in the mean time while they play there games. It is now Nov, 2016 been over a year and the school still will not work for my sons best interest. Avoid this school at all cost if you have any children with any challenges. This school does not have placement or training for anyone with special needs.

I regret sending my children to eisenhower. I have a daughter that always worked very hard and on top of that, is very smart. Having few unhelpful teachers made her school life miserable. Some teachers used to give projects without enough time for completion. She slept very little everytime that happened. Exhausted and Moody, she brings to school her projects just to learn that the teachers changed their minds and give extra time to finish because nobody could finish. One teacher lost my son's project in her messy table. There are great public middle schools, so avoid this one.

I went to this school for 1 and a half years, when I went there it was the middle of 7th grade and I got accepted by the other people very quickly, I made friends very quick. Then came 8th grade, it wasn't as easy with the friend part. My teachers were great and very helping. What happened with the friends is I came back and they didn't accept me anymore.I had to go make new friends, let me just tell you it took awhile. It wasn't as easy as 7th grade.In 8th grade there was a lot of drama with everyone, also there was lots of PDA.

Eisenhower is a great school I went there for three years and never had a problem. Sports teams werw amazing they had lots of fun stuff to do and rhe teachers were fun and amazing. Youbhave many oppurtunities to fit in so this school is amazing

Eisenhower isn't as bad as some of these reviews make it out to be. Although my child has never had a problem with bullying, I would also say that it is all in how you handle situations that come up. Middle schoolers can be mean, but as a parent we have to take that opportunity to teach our children about the right & wrong ways to behave. And I would classify my child as neither rich, nor popular, nor an athlete. In all other matters, I have found the principal to be available and responsive at all times (he even frequently answers the main line at the school!), and the counselors to be willing to work with me and my child whenever there is a problem. The teachers, as with any public school, run the gamut from outstanding to average to awful. However, again, I have found simple and straightforward communication with the school and faculty to be very effective in resolving issues. I get very irritated by the laziness of other parents who expect the world to be handed to their children on a silver platter, without any bumps or difficulties. It is up to the parents to work IN PARTNERSHIP with the school to ensure a quality education, wherein the CHILD takes responsibility for success.

Eisenhower is not a bad school whatsoever! It really just takes some getting used to. I went here for 3 years and I had a lot of fun and definitely learned a lot. The dress code is mostly enforced for the kids in Athletics, because the coach's want them to look nice.

This school is one of the worst! There is a lot of bullying and fights that they seem to not see? There is way to many chances on the work, they them in dress code to hide the fact that this is a ghetto school. If you don't know what that word is then look it up. I am so glad I moved my daughter to a better school.
