Hidden Forest is a gem! Its truly NEISDs best kept secret. A quiet, quaint school in the heart of San Antonio that feels like a small private school. The PTA Is incredibly active and supportive and offers many wonderful opportunities for the kids. Lots of parent engagement. The teachers are warm, welcoming and supportive. The counselor Mrs. Ojeda is phenomenal. I could not ask for a better scho to send my kids.

In K and 1, children received a monthly homework chart and were allowed to select the assignments they wished to do. Some options were playing outside and exercising for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Homework was not mandatory, as long as kids were keeping up in school. Kids got to be kids after so many hours of learning.

Teachers are clearly passionate about what they do, and love the kids. I have never felt so much joy when entering a school. Whenever my kids go for any event outside of school hours, it is hard to get them to leave!

Fantastic. Couldn't ask for anything more in a school. We are so happy here.

My daughter attended 5th grade here and we felt very fortunate to be in this school. I volunteered a lot and was able to see teachers at all grade levels supporting students and really caring about them. The staff is upbeat and positive about teaching and the administration really seemed to listen to teachers and parents. I was impressed with all of the things our principal did to connect with parents. Communication was great and the PTA was amazing. Parents are really involved here and the kids benefit from a strong sense of community and parental support. People who are fortunate enough to go to school in "the Forest" absolutely love it!

Homework is manageable and appropriate. No busy work, just good learning opportunities. Projects for upper grades are given with plenty of time and lots of classroom support.

Teachers at all grade levels work hard to make learning enjoyable and effective. I was impressed with all the staff here.

The school has a great curriculum for teaching character. It's used throughout the school and works great.

The principal listens to parents and makes adjustments based on their feedback. He also is very open to teachers using innovative ideas in the classroom. Several teachers co-teach, are able to move up with their students, or use flexible seating and open learning environments which I love.

There are many staff members available to work with all kinds of learning differences. Teachers have the flexibility in the classroom to do what needs to be done to help support all learners. I thought this was very impressive.

I have seen passion, integrity, support, kindness, helpfulness, motivators, brainstorming, creative thought, and incredibly intelligent teachers.

They are very fair with homework and do not overwhelm the families. Our teacher even let us take a different approach with homework.

They really do try to help you in every way they can. The principal is like a Guardian with pick-up and drop-off. He doesn't just sit behind the desk. Principal Miller is just wonderful.

Very good school and would encourage people moving to San Antonio to consider this area.

This school was an average experience for my son. We moved here from an exemplary school in Austin and was told that this school was one of the best. Our child's academics were OK, especially if you consider the population of the school. There are some smart and very active learners in this school's community. My son had a lot of homework that was given that he needed help completing. It felt like I was in school all over, instead of my child.
