The work life balance of the teachers is awful. The fact that they placed a high volume of students that have special needs in a new teachers class room speaks volumes about the principal and the support staff. Kids deserve quality time management, not rushed to met standards. I am so disappointed with this school. I recommend the schedule be changed immediately to accommodate quality time for both students and teachers. You can not rush education the way Larkspur has. So very disappointed.

Thinking about it a little more, Dr. Miller the principal should be beyond disappointed himself for setting up his staff to fail. He has kids himself and I am sure he would not accept this management of his kids in the school they attend. Do better DOCTOR MILLER. So very disappointed. Kids and teachers deserve better.

I will be posting this on all websites.

I wish i could give no stars. The fact that this school allowed a 6 year old boy to violate a 6 year old girl twice in the bathroom and he is being defended by the schools acting principle is proof enough that this is the worst school option for your children. I have never been so disgusted in my life. Cps should be investigating every staff member at this school. I am appalled.

Since moving to this stste we have had nothing but difficulties with this school and school district with my childs special needs. They only worry about there needs. Not the childs and fight as hard as they can to not get the help the child needs in school. And they sure do not listen to the parent. It makes you think they know your child better then you do? But in the short time they have them daily I do not know how that could be! Avoid this school if possible.

Homework can be overwhelming if not able to be done independent by the student, especially with working parents.

Larkspur is prosctive, not just reactive, with their students and teaching them integrity and leadership!

Larkspur ES is truly an exceptional school, with caring teachers and tenure. The new principal, Mr Owens, is spot on! I truly am thrilled my children are at Larkspur! Great things are happening at this school, and I am thankful my children are a part of it.

I have 2 daughters at this school. This is the 2nd year they have attended. If my daughters lived with me (instead of their mom) I would definitely not have them at this school. I have to give credit at least to my daughter's teachers, Mrs. Valentine (2nd) and Mrs. Leyva (4th grade). So far they have been the only real bright spot at the school. Overall, I'm sure there are good people there but I think there is an overall negative, drudgery-like, feeling that is given off. I have been told that yelling at students is a common occurrence and it just sorta feels like the staff just doesn't want to be there nor look at their job as something they really like/enjoy. Not trying to be critical/rude, however, this has probably been the most unfavorable school any of my 4 kids have ever attended..

Unfortunately, this school is not the way to go if you are considering it. It was voted the unfriendliest school in the district, and I have had personal experience with that. The administration is not very compassionate and the teachers and staff are treated poorly. The teacher turn around is high, and many good teachers have moved.

If you are an English only, non Hispanic family then avoid this school. They treat English only students like second class citizens. ALL, and I mean all, instruction is in both English and Spanish. Even non ESL/Dual Language classes have instructions in English and Spanish. They offer no educational classes (ie help your child to become a better reader) for parents who work. Parents can't have lunch with their child because the cafeteria is VERY small. They spend money on ESL Services and new administrative offices but they cannot update the Cafeteria or offer some type of after school athletics. The school can improve if it became a Charter school and opened another school in its place or letting parents have the choice if they want to go there (without having to do the Parent Choice Form thru NEISD).
