Teachers are bullies when brought to the attention of principal counselor vice principal its ignored. I would not recommend this school. If your child does something, you will hear from me within that same day, but if something is done to your child by staff, they will drag their feet on it. Take days even weeks for any kind of answers. Give them plenty of time to get their stories together against your child. Theres discrimination.

I am deeply disappointed with the lack of attention and professionalism shown by the new principal. I made a specific request regarding my son, and not only was it ignored, but he was also placed in a bilingual classroom without any discussion with me. To make matters worse, the teacher openly admitted she assumed he was bilingual simply because of his last name.
This is unacceptable and extremely concerning. No student should ever be placed in a class based on assumptions tied to their name or background. I have never felt so embarrassed, nor have I felt my son be so blatantly subjected to racial profiling. As a parent, I expect the school administration to take the time to listen, to respect each childs individual needs, and to ensure no child is judged or placed unfairly. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience here.

It is very difficult to find a great public school. Oak Grove is that and so much more. My daughter has grown to be self confident, and academically successful in just 2 years that she has been there. The principal and assistant principal, Mr. Massey & Mrs Garza are amazing leaders. The counselor, Mrs. Perez is always willing to go above and beyond for the kids. They all take time to hear any concerns, and address them right away. This school not only teaches its kids. It believes in them. Every child deserves this experience.

This school definitely deserves better than 4/10. My kids have been there since they started school and my oldest is now in Middle school at Garner and my youngest is in Third. The current principal is OUTSTANDING. Has always been willing to take time to talk to parents even with his busy schedule. The teachers and school as a whole really make you feel at home. The counselors are very friendly and care about the family as a whole. My oldest had trouble with the STARR test last year and every opportunity was afforded her to pass, and the principal called my himself in the middle of summer to let me know she had passed. When I made the decision to go back to school myself all the teachers were supportive as well. I love this school and have even placed my children on school choice so they could continue to go there when we moved. I highly reccomend this school to anyone moving to the area.

I have been impressed with this school since day one. They are VERY organized and patient with the students. There are all kinds of free classes and events the adults can attend, too. I have no complaints. My son enjoys his Kindergarten class and he is already spelling out words, adding and subtracting and enjoying his social time. The afterschool program they have there (KINS) is excellent, too. It's not a brand new school and there are some questionable families there but everything runs smoothly. All of the kids seem very comfortable, confident and willing to help others.
