My 12 year old grand son went to this school for 6th grade he hated going to school every day because he was bullied and they didn't teach him anything I contacted the school many many times but nothing was done about it so my grandson hated WOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL

My 13yr old son and I dropped by this school in order to get a feel of the environment since he may be attending next year. We were treated by the 8th grade counselor as an inconvenience, told to complete enrollment papers to talk further, make an appointment , and grilled me about why we were visiting schools if we lived in their attendance zone. It was as if they hadn't hear of people moving. They did not make us feel as if they would be pleased to serve us, instead it was as if we were a burden to them.

Staff is extremely helpful. Issues have been addressed immediately when brought to their attention. Excellent theater department. Outstanding Orchestra. Largest concern is the lack of students respect for themselves, classmates, and staff. Otherwise, experiences mirror normal middle school behaviors.

My daughter goes to this school. ..and yes traffic is horrible. ..but she gets good grades...she likes the school and she has the right friends. ..she's in band to...its not that bad of a school. ....I've seen worse....the only thing that I don't like is that she can't take the bus home....her elementary school was closer to where we live vs wood...abd she was able to take it then...but that's about it....wood is a good school

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL. The classrooms are overcrowded, the students run the school. Too much bullying....behavior problems, the students learn NOTHING. The teacher turn a deaf ear. The quality of the teachers at Wood is minimal at best. In most classes the teacher's time is spent dealing with disciplinary problems. My wife and I moved out of NEISD to get our child into a decent school. I am also a teacher, my wife is a teacher. So sad NEISD cannot manage their schools. Maybe TEA will come in and manager for them.

My daughter attended this school for 6th and 7th grade. The bullying is out of control. There are so many uncontrolled children and teachers that do not seem to care that it's happening. The area has grown too quickly so the schools are overwhelmed with students. There are too many kids in each classroom, and not enough space. We ended up moving just to get away from NEISD because we couldn't afford private school monthly tuition costs. As far as education level goes, that seemed to be pretty adequate as long the teachers were actually able to teach and not have to spend the whole classroom time disciplining. There are some really great teachers in this school and some not so great.

I am a grand parent to a 7th grader. on oct. 17th I arrived at the school to drive my granddaughter home so in less words the traffic is so disorderly at the pick up point an on to the light drivers are speeding & there is no patrol insight . not a city police of a NEISD PATROL I VALUE THE SAFETY OF MY GRANDCHILD & ALL OF THE CHILDREN OLEAS LOOK IN TO THIS ASASP.. A school can only be what the community makes of it. I have two students in Wood and another that is now at Roosevelt. All of them have had great teachers, great opportunities to learn and grow, and great challenges. Yes, there are problems, but the current staff and administrators are some of the best I have seen. They truely are concerned for every student's success and are working to address the issues they are aware of. All I can say to those that have negative opinions about the school, is what have YOU done to help fix them? Wood has a WatchDOG program where dads are encouraged to come and be in the school. The PTA has so many events that they need help with. The bands, choir, Academic, UIL, Art, drama all have field trips that they need chaparones for. It doesn't take much to help out either. The administration would love to have more parents in the school to just help out. Once you have been cleared by the district, there are so many opportunities to help; lunch room monitor, main office, library, hallways. I personally have gotten to know many of the students because of the time I spend there. The more support we give our school, the better they can support our kids.

This school is horrible. The students run the class rooms because there are so many stuffed into one class. My child comes home daily saying they did not learn a thing because their teachers did not have control of the class. Staff does not much help either

Very disappointed! There is a lot of bullying in this school. Bullying should be dealt with harshly! But it is not at this school. :(
