I hate to post a bad review of this school, hopefully in the future it will change, and I can update it but for now it's accurate. I learned of a child in my daughter's kindergarten class who at the beginning of the year was having difficult behavior (kicking, hitting the teacher). I thought it was merely an isolated incident. Unfortunately, I didn't find out the extent until last week when this same student threw a chair in class which grazed my daughter on the side of her head. I received a call from the nurse and of course asked her teacher about it later.
I reached out to other parents who have children in the same grade, some in her class, others in another teacher's class and that's when I found out this student has been terrorizing and abusing the children all through the school year. He has hit & kicked other children, stabbed the teacher with a pencil and yet is allowed to remain in class.
Granted there was another principal who has since been removed but even with our recent meeting with the acting principal the attitude seems to be the same. They have confirmed the district has sent specialists to help. I have had lunch with my daughter and can confirm there are additional people around him now although I am still at a lack of words that there were no consequences for his behavior. I was also made aware (via other parents) that a second student in one of the other kindergarten classes exhibits the same behavior and is apparently related to the child in my daughter's class.
I cannot confirm if he is also receiving assistance from other faculty although when I went to have lunch with my daughter, I personally saw him get away from a teacher, knock down a flagpole & then go behind some children & raise his hand to hit them. He was stopped prior to being able to although to me as a parent that is completely unacceptable behavior and how this child is still allowed to be in school is beyond me.
Since there was no empathy or support from the leadership at the school we have started looking into options so that our daughter will not attend next year. I hope by posting this review it helps other parents to know what is happening at Longs Creek. I was in the dark until an incident happened, and it seems it will obviously take a child being seriously injured before they bother taking true action.

My child is in fourth grade now and overall this school has been great! All of the teachers my child has had from class to specials have shown enthusiasm for teaching and caring for their students. Longs Creek has had its ups and downs with leadership changes over the past few years but I hope Mr. Forde and Mrs. Christenson will continue to move toward building a wonderful environment for the staff and families. This is only done with parent involvement which I have seen with daily volunteers and the Watchdog program. As a parent I encourage others to help when and however they can - it is the best thing for all of our children! I look forward to the next year and a half and I think we will miss being there as we move into middle school.

Not what I expected at all. I was told this was a very good school when I first moved to San Antonio and it's been the opposite in my experience. My children who are in 3rd and 2nd are learning what they had previously learned in Kinder.

The new principal is horrible! He accused my daughter of lying! I wish Mr. Cantrell was still here. This school has gone downhill. I don't know what's going on. I want to transfer my daughter out of this school. I'm military and have had my girl in many schools and this one falls short. I had heard Texas public schools were not great but this is beyond. I'm actually quite shocked. I've spoken with other parents and they agree. What's upsetting is that we can't just up and move! What's wrong with this school!!!

My son is in the first grade with Mrs. Mattox. She is a GREAT teacher, very responsive to what your kid needs, rather than strictly teaching to the TAKS. The principal Mr. Forde is a great with the kids, as is the vice principal whose name escapes me at this time. We knew we wanted to live in NEISD when we moved to San Antonio, and couldn't be happier with this LCES!

My son has had great success with Mrs. Pleak, Mrs. Jordan and Ms. Carnazzo. Overall, a great public school! Looking forward to many more years at Longs Creek.
