My two grown children attended here and my youngest is in 2nd grade now. This school has always been supportive and inclusive. I love the teachers and staff. They are amazing!

My son has been coming to OHT for 3 years now. Teachers are very supportive and amazing. April at Attendance office rocks at what she does!
We Highly recommend OHT. My son loves coming to school every day!

Both my children attended Oak Hills Terrace from PK - 5th grade. The staff and administration was always so supportive and attentive to my needs. Their custodial and cafeteria staff were always so friendly. I felt my kids were their kids. I also strongly feel their 5th grade teacher's were such an amazing support system in making their transition from Elementary to Middle School so successful. My oldest is now a 10th grader and my youngest an 8th grader and they still talk about how much they loved their OHT teacher's when they visit during community events and get to see them.

Such amazing teachers and staff. No school is perfect, but if you have any issues both the principal and the vice principal are so approachable and really take care of things. The teachers are so caring and work hard to make learning fun. The community is really becoming strong. They have pillar awards for character and you can see the signs throughout the neighborhood. We are proud to call OHT our school!

We have been at OHT for 3 years and are very happy with our experiences. To all of the complainers, I say GET INVOLVED! It is my experience that students who have involved parents do better in school in all aspects. Get to the know the administration and teachers, start from a position of respect rather than suspicion, volunteer if you're able, read with your kids every night.

This school has hard working and caring staff who have high expectations of the students and are constantly adapting and improving to best serve their students. Yes, we are a Title I school but that designation comes with a lot of benefits: free breakfast and lunch for everyone, free books from the district at least once a year, extra funds, extra programs. My kids are thriving academically and emotionally here and I would recommend this school to anyone in my neighborhood (and in fact I wish more families would bring their kids to public school rather than charters and private- the school would be even better with the addition of their children).

Currently OHT does not send home homework, but does focus on and encourage nightly reading. My kids are at the top of their classes so I don't mind and I love that they can come home and play and BE KIDS.

I've noticed a number of students whose home life is probably tough and come to school with less than ideal behavior, but the teachers and staff at OHT work to help every student be their best.

The principal and vice principal are top notch. They truly care about the students and give 100%. If something is not working, they assess and change course. I have seen this several times this year and they worked to motivate better attendance, behavior, and academics.

This school used to be top notch many years ago. My children graduated 5th grade in 2001 & 2005.
My observations now (2017) as a substitute teacher: the staff is professional and friendly, but there are too many children here who are downright rude to other children and their teachers, not just the subs. Even though they are sent to the administrators and parents are called, they continue this behavior.

These same children also refuse to work. They talk to the other kids instead. They talk back when reminded and even when given help, won't do anything.

THIS CAMPUS FORCED MY CHILD TO SIT IN DIARRHEA UNTIL SHE WAS COOKED~PEELED~AND BLEEDING DOWN IN HER PRIVATE AREA UNTIL SHE WAS IN TEARS BEFORE THEY EVEN BOTHERED TO CONTACT ME. WHEN I CONTACTED CENTRAL OFFICE BASICALLY ALL THEY DID WAS THREW THIS INCIDENT UNDER THE RUG AND TOLD THEM DONT DO IT AGAIN. THIS DISTRICT IS ALL ABOUT GETTING MONEY FROM THE STATE. I HAD AN OUT OF DISTRICT ASSESSMENT DONE ON MY DAUGHTER AND NISD INTERFERED WITH THE RESULTS. FOR NISD TO BE THE LARGEST DISTRICT IN THE CITY, WHEN IT COMES TO DOING WHAT'S RIGHT FOR OUR CHILDREN, THEY DO NOT CARE IF OUR CHILDREN ESPECIALLY OUR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES GET THE EDUCATION THEY NEED TO SUCCEED. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM NOT ONLY THIS CAMPUS BUT THE DISTRICT IN GENERAL.

Front office staff are rude. They always look mad, they really need more customer courtesy training. I dread having to call school or go to front office when my child misses school or is ill. No one should have to feel that way. Sadly they are the first impression people get when they visit and as long as they work there; the school will always look bad and have a bad reputation.

Sadly the school administration is HORRIBLE, this is our child second year there and things went from bad to worse, the school needs a strong principal who will take charge and change things around. Teachers use scare tact's with the kids. A lot of the staff think they can do whatever they want and when they r in a good mood they are nice but if they don't feel like it, they are very rude. The school nurse has a poor judgment or not enough education to know when a kid is having a real emergency. To this people we trust or kids everyday. I have talked to several parents and they are having similar issues, so I say lets get together and do something to protect our kids. The administration will always give us lip talk, and nothing will change if US the parents stay quiet and don't do anything about it. That is my very personal opinion.
