As a parent and teacher, Im so proud to be part of an Enrichment campus that is run year round. The climate is warm and welcoming and they have a Dual Language program that starts in kinder. My child has excelled at learning Spanish and English and is succeeding academically in all areas.

The admin and instructors made it a smooth process to transition my student from another nearby northside school. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my child was welcomed. The passion the instructors have in their roles is just what we were looking for. I couldnt be more happy with the choice we made to transfer our student to Westwood Terrace.

My daughter's in 3rd grade and she's doing a lot better than when she first started in pre-k. The administration was absolutely terrible and even the ladies that work the front office were apathetic and seemed very annoyed when you would ask for help or information. The school was dirty and needed improvements to the building and courtyard. It just seemed that most teachers were there to collect a check. This was very frustrating. It all got better the day that Mr. Tom Knapp became prinicipal and started cleaning up the place. He let go teachers that werent very good and began maintenance on the building and courtyard. He holds meetings for parents to attend and gives regular reports on the kids and schools progress. We are very pleased that he has taken over this school and seems genuinely sincere in making our kids education a top priority. Just because this school is in a poorer neighborhood and mostly comprised of Mexican-American kids, doesnt mean that our kids dont deserve a quality education. This is what Ive observed from Mr. Knapp and his Vice Principal. They have both made huge improvements at Westwood Terrace and should get more credit than they receive. The school rating should also be updated. Our community is very grateful for what they both have done.

in my experience with the principal, this his 3rd year,he is fair. However, my daughter is in 5th grade and has had problems with teachers and other students for the last 2 years.
I have talked to everyone including the administration on how to encourage her to develop better habits and self confidence. We all agree she is at risk but there is no concensus on how to help her. This school lacks dedication of most of its staff. It's seems he is only interested in attendance and the STARR.

Most of the teachers are great but some don't seem happy with their job and shows in the effort or there lack of. The principal, Ms. Guess, well to keep things nice all I will say is that the students, parents and staff were happier with the former principal.
