My son has been here for prek and kinder and is excited to start 1st grade! He has had good teachers and made good friends. His teacher last year loves working here even though she commutes across town. She doesn’t want to work anywhere else! There are a number of fun events by the PTA during the year and I like seeing the Dad’s involvement in the Watch Dog program. Learning tree aftercare program at the school is very convenient.

We’ve had a horrible few years at this school. Teachers are totally checked out, on their phones, and most school work is done on iPads. No homework is ever given, and we’ve had to hire tutors during the week as we felt our kids weren’t progressing. When we’ve raised issues nothing ever gets done. We’re currently exploring private schools or moving to a better elementary school district .

Such a GREAT Elementary school in such a Horrible, horrible location. Great teachers, no fields, solid administrators, but they're hands are tied.
My 3rd grader got lice continuously for 3 months with me treating her every three days and washing sheets daily. Why? Because the administration could not send the little girl home who was grossly infested. I finally went into the administration and gad to throw a fit after 3 months of it.
5th grade science teacher is awesome. Music teacher awesome. Speech pathologists, again awesome.
Good school but watch out for your kid and throw a fit when needed, after being patient.

My child is happy to be done with this school. Leadership at this school needs to set better examples. Leadership needs to stop gossiping about other people. Our kids can hear that.

My child came from IDEA to this school. Since attending LSE, he has completely transformed. He is so much happier and is learning so much! He loves school and his teacher. His teacher is absolutely amazing. They are very supportive and really work with the kids. I am so grateful a school like this exists. The school is also very safe and I trust them with my kids. I would not have them anywhere else!

Campus administration doesn’t have the ability to appropriately and adequately address parent concerns. Many teachers have left, and plan to leave, due to leadership of campus administration. Everything appears to be great on the outside but there’s been a huge decline over the past 4-5 years in the overall quality at this school. Alarmingly, the most current issue is that they completely mishandled the numerous meetings and conversations that were had with multiple concerned parents over a segregation experiment and the viewing of a documentary with graphic images that even the Northside district deemed “not age appropriate” for 5th graders. Their refusal to notify parents of these lessons, done 100% without parent knowledge or consent, should heighten awareness and extreme concern for any parents considering this school for their children. As parents, if you want the truth about what lessons your 5th grade child is being taught and what’s truly going on in the classroom, this may not be the school for you. A simple Google search will bring up more information about these issues that were made public in 2022. Levels from kinder to (maybe) 2nd grade are more pleasant than grade levels past that point. There are some great teachers here and there are many activities that children can participate in.

This school is the 'heart ' of Leon Springs. The adminstrators and faculty are so dedicated. They provide a challenging and enriching environment for all of the children at LSE. Community and parent support has been strong and has grown stronger since the school opened in 1991. Our family is proud to be involved as community volunteers, because of LSE's consistent commitment to excellence.

Leon Springs Elementary School is a gem. It has received numerous accolades to include that of "exemplary" status. The administration, teachers, and parents are extremely involved and work closely together to foster a healthy learning environment and enriching education for all children. The school is still small for Texas standards which allows for a more personalized experience. The teachers also cultivate leadership skills beginning in kinder. The principal is hands-down one of the most respected and touted educators in Texas.
