I've gone to this school for a quarter and a half, and it was worse than I could have imagined. They hadn't offered any honors classes for 9th and 10th graders, which took a large toll on my GPA because most of my classes were honors. The amount of sketchy and damn near pedophilic behavior from teachers and staff is foul, and the amount of blatant racism and homophobia that comes out of students' mouths is uncalled for. They push me harder academically and give me more opportunities socially (it being a small school), but I'd much rather move back to a school that lets me live my life without having to worry about word getting out and spreading quickly.

As a military family, we have lived all over the country and two locations overseas. My children have attended 11 schools in total and Randolph was by far the worst experience we have ever had. First, there are NO honors classes for 9th or 10th grade in core curriculum classes, while all the surrounding school districts have honors classes for all grade levels If you have a child that comes to Randolph as a freshman or sophomore, they will not give you credit for the honors classes that your child took at another school, thus lowering their GPA. Their excuse was that since they do not offer those classes it wouldn't be fair to the current students. I think the term they used was, " We have to find a way to level the playing field." I talked to the head administrator Dr. Holt, two principal's, and school board many times about this issue over the past three years and NOTHING was done. I was asking them to improve the academics of the school, and to award students who move into the school with honors credits, instead of punish them. I thought this was the reason we see our kids to school anyway. I was mistaken. The hidden agendas and mismanagement of funds by the head administrator are beyond embarrassing. I could go on for days. Please do your research before sending your child to this high school.

Randolph is a PUBLIC school, located on a military base, which gives the impression that it's a quality school. It is not. My child was zoned to Randolph because my husband's job required him to live on base.

Although the surrounding schools may have a lower great schools rating I would encourage you to look at their IBA program and honors programs which offer many honors classes and a variety of elective classes that Randolph does not. I have no idea how Randolph got a rating of 8/10.

This school was probably a really good school at some point, but it no longer is one I would recommend. It was a good environment for military children where they could attend school with others in similar situations with constant moves and other stresses of the military family life. However, the staff's unwillingness to address bullying and other behavior issues with senior officers' children have allowed a toxic environment to develop. Additionally, they were sympathetic to the learning experience of military children in that they would allow children to continue to attend after their parents retired out of the military in the local area or they moved off base for other reasons. Lately they have booted everyone's children who weren't active duty and living on base causing some to even have to start at a new school their senior year. Additionally, their "no homework" construct and everyone getting a second chance to correct answers missed on tests policies do not prepare children for real schools where they must learn time management and actually how to study. Definitely look elsewhere before considering this school.

My kids they started attended the school year of 2023-2024 and as a parent I could not be more grateful for them to have the opportunity to be enrolled in this school. I do highly recommend and to enjoy this great community.

hello i am a parent of 2 kids the school has let them use there phone in a class or during google classroom work. and my daughter is told to do work all night, she has been very stressed.

Our son just completed his first year at Randolph as a freshman and I feel he was give excellent instruction! The teachers took more than enough time trying to help him understand new concepts and allowed him extra time to turn in homework. They were more than fair with him!

They hold my student accountable!! I am glad they do not allow him to get away with anything! Kids today have to learn integrity and to take responsibility for their actions!!!

Outstanding teachers!! Great students!! Small classroom sizes!! Good athletics that any student who wants to participate can!!

This school has tanked since the new principal came. His great ideas were to lengthen the school days and dangle a remotely possible short day on Fridays. The homework load has gotten heavier and the failure rate is double what it was this time last year. I have two children who are excellent students--traditionally have had all A's and a B here or there. They are inundated with busy work. Kids are falling asleep in class because if you add ANY extra curricular activities, they are up until 11, 12, even 1am! They begin harassing students 5 minutes after the early release on Fridays to "Get to a Center". They have 10 minutes to be picked up or leave on Fridays or they have to be in a center. Yippee. Early release is such a benefit, right? I am not sure that it will be worth staying--even if we don't PCS. Teachers work on the tenure program, so if they make it past 2 years, there would have to be an earthshattering reason to get them replaced. Not very motivating to keep it fresh. There are a handful of excellent teachers, and those are the ones who are fed up with the new administration as well.

I loved Randolph! I attended the elementary school from pre-k all the way to 6th grade at the middle school. Then I had move overseas and attend a Dodea school (which offers a wide range of classes, tho very small). I am now transferring back to Randolph as a Sophomore. And I don't know what to expect. I hear from my former classmates and friends that the teachers are mean and there are limited classes. In my Dodea school, I've been on the track of JROTC and I'm looking forward to continuing that class. And I know that Randolph doesn't.... When it should. So I will have to begin the program, and I'm starting to wonder how difficult of a task this will be.... :/

Randolph High school is lacking in many ways. Yes, the school is small and classes are limited but that is to be expected in a small school. I feel the school is lacking in the teachers. There are a handful of excellent teachers but many of them are "old-school" teachers. They don't teach the individual student and they teach the exact same lesson plans year after year. I know this because I've had two children at this school. Just be sure to be involved to get the best education for your child. There is a new Principal who is making many great changes so hopefully it will be better next year.

Moving to the area, seriously look at other schools before enrolling your child here. Ask yourself what your child needs and can this small close minded school which is unable to think outside the box to accommodate a student that has special needs (I am not just talking learning disablities, but anyone considered anything, but average). The administration and counseling staff does not know how to deal with transferring credits and would rather make everyone fit into their archaic system that only benefits the students who start and finish their high school careers at Randolph versus looking at what is in the best interest of the individual student. God forbid a transfer student should upset the precious balance of the status quo and interfere with the class rank of those students who have been around forever. Ask them to calculate GPA, convert credits or actually transfer a class that they don't offer and accurately label it and weigh it for class rank purposes, counseling department is no help. Think it doesn't matter as long as they meet Texas standards to graduate, well think again it does when applying to colleges. Again look at other options, before enrolling here.
