This school reminds me of the mindless song "we don't need no education" its a sausage factory for students that will eventually be tracked into a trade by the terrible school system. It is a shame and anyone that lets their child attend this horrible school should think twice about what to expect for a future for their child. The teachers are beyond overwhelmed with teaching for the TAKS, they have no playground and they get a 10 minute lunch at best. I do not recommend this school for any child and if they had a ZERO rating i would give it that. Beware of PTA meeting that are held at times when no one with a job could possibly attend, this just means the less they have to deal with you. Its a terrible system and a product of the legacy of no child left behind.

The staff at Rogers Elem is less than friendly. The Principal seems too busy to talk to parents and definitely does not have time if you want to complain. Our child's teacher should have chosen another career, because she does not like kids! The school counselor is overwhelmed, and since the schools rely on the TAKS scores for bonuses, any child that needs extra help is just out of luck. The vice principal uses a bull horn during lunchtime to hurry students through their meal and to keep them silent -- this is only one of 2 times kids can socialize, the other is playground once a week, and then only if they finish their classwork. Are all public schools like this? How sad!

The school is great. All of the school staff have the best interest for the children as if they were their own. Want to commend the 1st and 5th grade teachers, they are the best teachers any child can have.
