Nothing against the school itself but the entire SCUC district needs to get their act together. This district is by far the WORST my kids have ever attended. (My family has moved alot to where this is the 7th school my kids have gone to) no wonder there are so many homeschooling kids in this area. The school days (times) are absurd and each year they change. Longer school years, kids not getting out till 3:30 / 4:30, not to mention IF your kids makes sports teams they will be getting home even later! This district has a lot to learn. I wish my family could move back to our old town because that district has their *stuff* together.

After asking many neighbors and parents in the Cibolo area I have not received any negative comments about the school.

they only use the website to communicate, but it never works. i never have a clue what is going on and they only care to help me troubleshoot the website. they could care less about anything else

The previous post on fights is correct. Seems to be allot of them. My son recorded one and posted it to Instagram with no identifiable information and removed it a couple hours later. Someone copied it and he got three days out of school suspension and they seized his phone and I had to pay to get it back. Not even a call on taking his phone, found out on Friday at 4pm and had to go beat on the school doors to get in a retrieve it. School doesn't like people to know what's really going on there I guess. Moved here because of the schools and have one here and one At steele high school, really wish they were going to Clemons and corbet cause these two schools are headed downhill.

My family and I moved to Cibolo from the Houston Area and my son has been enrolled at Dobie since the 1st week of November. He missed the cut-off of basketball tryouts by 1-day and was told that we could not play because he missed tryouts. This was very disappointing as we were hoping that being involved in a school team would help with the transition. Since November he has reported to us that he has witnessed 3 fights; 1 recorded on his phone. The overall feeling I get is there is a lack of discipline. I personally have heard the way that the students talk to the teachers and it is not only rude but disrespectful. My son regularly reports that students are loud and disturb the teachings in just about every class he is in. There seems to be no pride in the school when compared to our previous junior high; very little community involvement, student activities (outside of sports). Our son will work through the remainder of the year but will most likely transfer to a private school next fall. I do not have faith that this school is working to prepare him for high school.

The school is good, but needs some improvement, in some areas specially in the cafeteria, because of the bad organization in lunch time. Good Principal and good staff.

This school puts a lot of emphasis on its sports. Which shows in how successful they are. My daughter is in the honors classes, and they don't seem hard enough for her. I think the teachers should try and challenge the students more. Other than that I have no complaints as she absolutely adores her teachers, and the administrative staff seems good.

I will admit there are a lot of students that attend this school only because everyone wants to go here and the community is growing by leaps and bounds. The teachers are great in replying to your emails pretty quickly. The Grade speed is in the only way to go but, if you don't have internet is is nearly impossible to get feed back from the teachers. Their counselors are a great help but, as for parent involvement, I haven't really notice anything. Our other school was always sending out request for help, having quarterly parent/teacher meet and greets. and offering invitations for plays, concerts, science fairs, and sports for everyone that had children in their school. They were always looking for volunteers to help. My daughter says she likes all of her teachers and the principal. She said the staff is nice except she isn't happy with the cafeteria workers (can be rude and stressed) or lunch itself. Only because there are too many kids to get a plate and not enough time to eat if you did. So, she takes a lunch.

I moved here from alamo hieghts, and I am very dissapointed. this school has way to many students and to few teachers. My child never has homework, and is not academically challenges. She is however socially challenged, because alot of the kids are just mean. it's like their parents are nowere in their life. some of the teachers need to retire, since they do not actually teach. I was a sub teacher there and the kids are disrespectful and lazy.
