Cater Elementary School

My son is currently in 1st grade. While I enjoy his teacher, I just dont feel hes making good progress and getting the extra help he needs. I feel like the teachers need more support and resources and it's something they may not be getting. I dont know everything as I'm not a teacher, but something is up.

It's always the same homework and it doesnt switch up to engage the students a but more. I'm all for consistency, however if it's not effective change it up every once in a while

It seems they let children who used curse words and were borderline violent get away with a lot which in the end stripped the students wanting to learn and be there from and education and took teachers away from teacher the class

Our son has issues with bullying last year and it seemed no one had the decency to tell is what was going on. The kids would curse and throw chairs and nothing seemed to be done. I feel bad for the teachers.

I'm not sure how this works, however I've noticed my son having difficulty and its seems hes not getting the help he needs

Kids throwing racial slurs at each other, cussing each other out, no respect for authority.

Kids constantly cussing out and flipping off teachers, no one does anything about it.

Our son was bullied for being white at a mainly black school. When we brought it to their attention nothing was done bc we're white. We just had to deal with it, and our son is in 2nd grade. He was also made fun of for wearing Sketchers bc they're "white boy" shoes.

I'm sure that the teachers do the best they can, but it's pretty sad when we see and hear teachers getting cussed out and flipped off almost every day, but the kids never get in trouble bc the teachers are too afraid to speak up. Our son was bullied for being white, and he was sent to the principal's office for throwing crayons while all these other kids get away with foul language. My son learned MANY inappropriate words and lewd gestures at this school, and that was all in 2nd grade. We WILL NOT be returning to this school and definitely will not be sending our upcoming Kindergartener there!

Lori Hendy is a WONDERFUL teacher. I believe she is the only thing positive I could say about this school. The school is awful in every way possible. I would leave texas before I ever let any of my kids go back to this school.
