my time at Lamar was horrible i was bullied to leaving and constant second guessing my safety there was multiple bomb threats in one week and parents where not told about it the way parents found out was though there child it was posted to Instagram as well on a private story there was also a school shooting threat that was not taken seriously. There was also a lot of drugs, vapes, alcohol, and pocket knifes found on students the staff may have got them for it in the moment but they did not care. They will not teach there students at all and the ones that do quit because of students or other staff i have seen it happen 3 times while i was there for 2 1/2 years. I would not recommend this school go to a different one in the temple isd district or Belton isd as well.

I don't recommend this school at all. there is literally mice and cockroaches in the main hallway restroom, but not even that some of the teachers here dont care. and the students here are so mean to the new 6th graders and there are just to many names and things students say to each other. bulling here has been so bad that 10 students this year had to move to different schools,5 of them were my friends who I barely see nowadays.and take this from a student (me) who is in 8th grade and experienced this hell hole.

I have had nothing but issues. Most teachers are not the issue. The administration and the way that they do not respond to teacher and children needs. Lamar keeps stating how great they are, how much has been done. It was a building update, nothing has changed in the way they manage the dump.

Our daughter is a 7th grader at Lamar. In the year and a half she's been at LMS, we've seen her blossom and grow. She is challenged with rigorous academic work, enriched with a terrific fine arts program, afforded the opportunity to experience a more world-view with a diverse and thriving school population, and kept safe by vigilant campus staff and leadership. Her emotional well-being is also nurtured by amazing partnerships with Communities in Schools. We could have chosen to go anywhere in Temple or Belton ISDs and we chose Lamar. Their scores are terrific, their facilities are being updated - thanks to a successful bond election, and they have big goals for the future. Proud to be a Bearcat family.

My son is going to be new this 2012/2013 school year. I went as a pre-teen and I have no bad words as of now. I truly believe it's going to be a perfect fit for my son.

I am the parent of a 6th grade student at Lamar Middle School. I am hoping my comment will help any parents who may be relocating to the TISD school district. I strongly recommend finding another school system to enroll your child in. Since relocating to Temple a year ago it has been a complete nightmare for my child and myself here. The amount of bullying by students and staff at Lamar is completely horrible. The school has failed the state testing and is below average. The kids at lamar have no respect for anyone including the staff, and the basic belief there is you can stay out of trouble if you just ignore the bullying and whatever you do don't fight back against the bullying or speak up against it or you will be suspended. This school is blind to the needs of their children and turn a blind eye to the problems there. They think if they ignore it, it will go away. No amount of talking to the staff does any good. My child is in the National Honor Role Society and is a Lone Star State Scholar yet hates going to school because he knows what the day will hold for him there. Please if you are thinking of relocating, Do Not Relocate To The TISD School District!
