Not a great experience. If you have a gifted child I would send them somewhere else if you can. They say they support this enrichment but my kid hasn’t learned anything. We have to do school on our own because the school is so dysfunctional. The school staff is poorly trained in child development and disciple. They call parents for the smallest thing. This just shows the child the adults at the school don’t have any authority. This happens at all levels from teacher to principle so I would strongly recommend finding another school if you can.

My children have had a great experience at this school. The staff is caring and exceptional. Students are a diverse group, which I love I feel that that is important. My boys loved going every day, as it was a positive and secure place for them. They were prepped very well for middle school.

Kp is the 4th school in tisd i have dealt with. 2 of those schools i was even on the pto. Kp Is by far, hands down, THE BEST ONE. I cannot shout it loud enough for you to hear. I was so nervous sending my son as this alone would be his third school. I got phone calls, e mails, and even a visit to my house with a book they made to get him excited to go to school. Can we say above and beyond? These calls were not oh my boss says I have to call you, they were genuine I can't wait to meet (or see again) your son. Class dojo is a great app where you can see your child is actually happy and learning. The last time I was given a staff cell phone number was 7 years ago when my daughter was in pre k, people don't do that often but it makes you feel important as a parent. Administration is not robotic, they know parents matter as well as the kids. my son lost his spark for going to school and after going to kp it is back, he loves school, he knows he is safe and loved. Even with covid I was able to, with precautions go into the school, see the room, meet the teachers and have fears put at ease. The teachers don't judge a family that is struggling and do what they can to help the entire family on their own time. I highly recommend kp, and I have especially to special needs parents as I am confident my child is in excellent hands. I am a teacher myself I have seen it all and the effects different teachers have on children. I can tell just by watching my son that his teachers are the teachers that love what they do with a heart of gold, not the teachers that are burnt out and are just there. I wish my son was there longer but im glad I found this school.
