Fights almost everyday teachers watching and sometimes not caring and some teachers don't even actually teach they just sit there give you an ed puzzle and call it a day and they want to get mad over us failing a test and it's their fault for being a bad teacher. Teachers making rude comments and swearing. Girls can't even wear shorts without being harassed by boys or getting dressed coded. Teachers calling kids good girl/boy which I find weird. Way to much bullying and kids vaping to many kids in the hall. Teachers see kids upsetting each other and they just ignore it. I myself has complained to a teacher and even assistant principal and they did nothing. Me and my friends are getting bullied and we told teachers and guess what? Nothing!! Kids swearing right In front of teachers and guess what? They say nothing! To all parents reading this I do NOT recommend coming here to the school. I'm proud of the teachers who resigned from the school and got out of such a cruel place.

McNiel has great teachers that care about your child. This is my child's second year at McNiel. This year has been so much better. My child says she rarely sees a fight. It is middle school so some fights are going to happen no matter what school you go to unfortunately. The principal and counselors really care about all the students there. The advanced classes are paced at the right amount of vigor. I hate people have bashed such a great school.

There are many fights all over the place. Last Friday, a girl got beat up and she had to get carried out by paramedics! THIS SCHOOL IS DANGEROUS! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL!

The way to describe this school is absolute chaos.
With fighting in the halls, students getting jumped in the bathroom, little to no care about the students well-being, and constant scrutinizing about the dress code, especially to females, this school is a piece of work.
With the weather recently being in the hundreds, girls are scared to wear shorts, because they dont want to go through the ordeal of being dress coded. Getting dress coded for shorts 1/8 of an inch too short and being sent to ISS, means missing valuable learning time. The dress code policy has gotten to the point of harassment of female students and a hostile school environment.

Im about to start my 8th grade year at this school, and i was here for 6th and 7th. There are fights every other day. Peers are out of control. Teachers swearing, and not focused on students learning. Ive had multiple friends leave this school because of bullying. Its very hard to stay focused on learning when there is all of this stuff happening around. The disciplinary system is horrible and the teacher seem scared of the students. I do not feel safe at this school and may be transferring. If youre newly moving into this school, dont.

My son has been so lonely lost in the sea of a severely overcrowded school. He goes unnoticed. As a military family we try to find a niche for our children to meet people and not feel so alone. Its impossible here. Sports are all over crowded. Clubs disbanded due to Covid. Ill be so glad to get orders.

There are a lot of good kids here. However, instead of really enforcing standards, and maintaining discipline overall the troublemakers are simply shuffled around and passed on to the next class/grade.

Theres a severe lack of communication with the parents from the actual school. Im honestly dont know the name of the principal. We get bombardment with impersonal robo calls from the district however.

McNeil seems to have great difficulty in creating a respectful environment for its student body. The administration and staff allow multiple behavioral problems to go unchecked on campus. Many of the children harass and berate each other during class and in the hallways. The addition of 6th grade into 7-8th has only made the problem worse - our 6th and 8th graders (boys) were pretty shocked by the vulgar talk and bullying hat is undetected or left unchecked by the staff. Disappointing!!

Our sons report that many children harass others without recourse. They report many fights amongst the kids and are often witness to kids verbally and physically tearing each other down. As a parent that walks their kids to/from school - Ive also witnessed the boys coaches stand idly by as the PE classes run amuck, typically with the children screaming insults and excessive profanity during the class. Not the environment we want our kids in every day.
