I can’t say enough about how wonderful this school and the teachers/staff are! It is such a loving, welcoming community. They have rigorous academics and assistance for students who may be struggling. There is a large variety of extracurriculars and sports offered as well. Most importantly, your children will be taught in a setting where morals are taught and valued, and they will be allowed to learn about the Catholic faith and have it integrated into their day.

My children have been attending OLPH since the were in pre-K. I have been very impressed of the curriculum as their scores in standardized tests have been above average. This is very important to me as a parent as I want to ensure my children are receiving a top notch education which should serve them well when they enter high school. The teachers and administrative staff are very welcoming and listen to any concerns I may have. The school is always looking towards the future and ways to improve the school, not in just education but safety, athletics, spiritual life, volunteerism, and many more. It can be a financial sacrifice to send your child to a private school, but if you are like me and understand that public education is not what it used to be then look no further and schedule a visit. The school offers tuition assistance for those who need it, so don't let that be an excuse not to try OLPH.

Our daughter has attended since she was 3 years old. During COVID we moved her for 4th grade and we quickly realized the education she received at OLPH was far superior. She returned for 5th grade and we are blessed to be a part of this wonderful community. The school does offer Athletics, Music, Entrepreneur club, yearbook, spanish, photography, and more that I am missing. The older kids interact with the younger kids and there is a large community feel.

We have been at OLPH since PreK and we have loved so many aspects to this school. We have been so happy with all the teachers that my children have been with each providing academic education in ways that help the kids become excited for school and to learn. We have also loved the religious aspect and the teaching of being a good person. We feel welcome in this community by all the faculty and staff and feel blessed to be able to be a part of it.

My daughter absolutely thrived here and we are so sad that we moved out of town and have not found a school that we love as much as OLPH.

Homework in kindergarten was minimal and due weekly so there is grwat flexibility to make it work for your schedule.

Best, most caring teachers we have experienced in Texas. They truly go above and beyond, and differentiate for students who need more of a challenge.

My child is very defiant and oppositional, but the deep focus on character and faith helped her to be more respectful and compassionate.

Teachers are willing to make accommodations without diagnoses or ieps; they just do what works best for you child because it is the right thing to do and their goal is to reach all learners. My daughter received many accommodations and we always felt like our suggestionss were taken seriously and implemented.

No it DOES NOT. If you have a child with any difference or if the teacher finds you child to difficult to deal with or has ADD or ADHD, you might as well look else where. This school does not have the staff or funds or heart to deal with children with any special needs, learning differences or any difference for children with any special attention or needs. Do not expect school to accommodate your child. Sorry but they will tell you this up front or when you encounter there is an issue with your child during the school year.

This is a what the teacher told us... "just like adults, they have to learn to deal with all different types of personalities on their own." So if that doesn't help you decide not sure what else will if you have had issues with bullying.

If I can rate this school a zero, I would. I chose this school because it had good reviews on their websites, but apparently everybody that has bad experiences didn't bother to write their reviews or just decided to leave because we are not the only parents in the school that are disappointed in the teachers and staff in this school.

Homework for Kindergarten is a bit much. It gets worse through out the grades. Every parent I have encountered has complaints about the amount of homework given to the students.

Teachers and teacher aides are the biggest disappointments in this school. They have a huge issue when you approach them with your childs' concerns and/or needs. They will retaliate. I worry daily that my child is getting mistreated just because they do not like the fact that we are involved. Vice principle is no help and the principal is military so he is not one you can approach with concerns unless, you went through all the chains of command. So although you go through all the protocols, it doesn't do you any good. They will find ways to bend the policy to their favor no matter what the handbook states. Reminder this is a Catholic school but it doesn't seem to do these people any good.

When the classmates and/or students have more consideration for each other than the teachers, staff or the parents there is definitely an issue in how this school is running.

The only person to have staff, parents and students abide by the handbook policies is the principle, but he doesn't get involved. He allows the staff to have too much power and control to their favor. If Mr Burns would be more involved in how this school was actually running and listen to all the complaints and concerns of the parents, maybe the teachers, aides and staff would not take things for granted and be complete jerks to parents. God forbid if you bring up an issue, you will spend the rest of the time dealing with all the things these teachers/aides do to mistreat your child. This will be the LAST year I have my child in this school. We are so disappointed with this school.

Every school can do a better. Job with the bullies. Sometimes the teachers do not see what they are doing and childre are reluctant to be "squeezers"

My Grabdson transferred to this Catholic school from another out of state. I was thrilled when J went to visit. The children actually attend MASS other than on Sunday. They say the Rosary! And I read another review that said the children refer to special children as "retard". I beg to differ. My Grandson says they care called SPECIAL TO GOD children! I am so proud of my grandson and how he loves his religion.

This is a wonderful school with an amazing community. The teachers and staff are excellent. If you are looking for a school and parish that your child/children can grow in their faith and excel in their academics this is the place to be.

My child has attended this school for several years. While there are many things I do like, I recently have not been pleased with the overwhelming amount of work and lack of communication, collaboration between teachers. My child has been identified through certified and state testing as gifted and has routinely 2-3 hours of homework a night. Sometimes both a major test and essay plus routine work due all on the same day. While discipline is encouraged, there is definitely a fine line between too much and not enough.. I wholeheartedly believe that quality superceeds quantity and that children should be allowed to still be kids and have time for extracurricular activities. Which leads me to also bring up, the sports program is so, so and the advanced band sounds beginner, very beginner.Also, several teachers who have worked over 20 years have retired and replaced with unexperienced teachers. We are definately looking into other schools for our child.

First off most of the teachers here are great but some of them are just awful they get mad at you for the most ridiculous things like when my friends and I were picking up spear grass and one of the teachers yelled at us saying " STOP THAT YOU COULD PUNCTURE SOMEONE'S SKIN AND CAUSE THEM TO BLEED OUT AND GO TO THE HOSPITAL!" And we didn't even shoot it and all of my friends that were there got a behavior warning even the ones that weren't doing anything but the other teachers really help you and encourage you to do better the only reasons I gave this school a 3 star rating is because of some of the great teachers that are here and the great friends I have made

OLPH is by far the best school in San Antonio. My eyes water knowing she will be moving up to the next grade. Her teacher is absolutely amazing. The office staff has been extremely helpful from the beginning. I'm a parent with 3 kids and they seem to go out of their way all the time. The lunch lady is just the sweetest ever. There is not one negative thing I could say. We've been so impressed with OLPH since she attended their pre-school program. She learned to write her first and last name after week 1. Everything they do is above and beyond what any other school would do. We are sad that she will be leaving her amazing kinder class and moving up but I know she will be in good hands as everyone their is truly the best. Also wanted to point out that every time you walk in the class it smells so clean. Even in the Child Care Center it smells so clean. Toys are neatly organized and always cleaned. This is by far the best school in San Antonio.

OLPH is a top notch school in Greater San Antonio. This is our 3rd year there and my son is excelling like I could never imagine. While there could certainly be some improvements in some of the buildings, and a few other things, they are not issues that detract from this school graduating excellent students that are well ahead of the bell curve going into H.S.
