My child thrives at St. Thomas More Catholic School. The community is close and supportive. I appreciate the small class sizes and the individualized attention each child receives.

We love this micro school for our kids. It is a tight knit community where we all know one another. I feel like campus is a secure campus and that my kids are safe there.

St. Thomas More has been a wonderful experience for our children and family. They have grown up in a Christian environment where we always felt they were safe. They have excelled in their academics especially in the smaller classroom size. We love STM!

My child experienced excessive bullying at this school. When my child went to teachers who ignored AND contributed to the bullying. Do not send your child here unless you want them to suffer from PTSD.

I rate St. Thomas More Catholic School as excellent! My child feels welcomed and looks forward to going to school. I appreciate the intimate community and I especially enjoy knowing that past alumni of the school return to work there as adults and to enroll their own children in their Alma mater. It has a feeling of a family environment. Lastly, the school is effective in following safety protocols which have resulted in having zero COVID-19 cases thus far.

Several approaches to supportive work are used. My child's teacher utilizes:
1. Seesaw app
2. Emailed updates on what is being worked on that parents can support at home
3. Celebrate! monthly handouts that outline important Catholic dates and events that the family can discuss and explore at home with their child
4. Monthly handouts that explain the themes and skills that will be focused on in class that parents can carry over into the home routine.

Teachers are available, responsive and effective. My child's teacher maintains open communication with me and shares the strategies she uses to help my child stay on task, learn new skills and develop his faith.

The principal is approachable and hands-on with all school activities. There are various opportunities for families to be involved and share their voice. The principal also ensures transparent communication by way if a weekly newsletter and zoom meetings with parents to provide updates on the state of our school year.

I absolutely love the smaller classes. I love the attention my children receive from the teachers. The teachers are able to read of they are capable of advancing with their studies and gladly provide challenges. They are able to assist those with difficulties. I love the warmth of the school and we are an extended family.

Pre-Covid, they provided challenging work 2-3 days a week but wasn't overwhelming. It was encouragement to expand on ideas and creativity and parental involvement. It still allowed for the free time any student needs to prepare for the next day.

They utilize the technology proficiently but I love the connection with each student that they have. They truly care about each student.

Principal is very involved with the parents and staff, many of the staff members have been involved with the school for numerous years, alumni return as teachers, tight involvement with parish pastor, school board and PTC.

Luckily, this school is so warm with one another that we aren't encountering it regularly or on a massive scale. There have been isolated incidents and each event is dealt with individually.

Excellent! STM has been great for my children. In comparing to our niece and nephew who attend a charter school our children are (I believe) receiving a more rounded education.

The homework is manageable. It not an over load but enforces what they are doing in school.

The teachers go above and beyond their role as an educator. STM has small class sizes which I love because my child gets more attention. They care about my child which I believe is important.

My children is immersed in a Catholic atmosphere. This is what we love most about STM is the Christian growth. In the world we live in today it is important for us to have our children in an atmosphere where they are able to freely share and practice their faith. There are many non-Catholic families that bring their children to STM for this same reason.

They assign daily homework that helps my child better understand the course work without being overwhelming.

Throughout the many years that both my children have attended this school the teachers have always had open communication with me with my children's learning and daily behavior.

I give them one star cause that is the lowest rating I can give them. They have no integrity and don’t care what happens to the students as long as you pay them their tuition every year they don’t care what you do or what happens to you. I have placed several complaints with the school and was just told it’s not my business what happens with the situation cause the other child is not mine

Their is a student who physically abused my child the school did nothing another student mentally abused my child the school did nothing the PE teacher would harass my child the school did nothing. By no means does this instill any of the above

They don’t lead by example. The teacher would punish my child for her hair even though it was in compliance she just didn’t like it. The principal would do nothing even though my child came home crying

The teachers and staff are not kind, caring or genuine. They act like they are caring when they want you to enroll your child but if you don't fit in with their standards you are felt left out and shunned. Children aren't allowed to have an opinion. They have no extra curriculum that benefits the kids. There is a lot of bullying going on and if your child is not one of chosen few they are not defended. Students are left alone in the classroom for long periods of time. Teachers are not approachable or friendly.

This school is horrible . If you're not part of the clique , expect your child to be treated unfairly . Enrollment has dropped tremendously throughout the years and will continue to do so until they are permanently closed down.

With the perspective of a few years gone by, I will say that after graduating from STM my children went on to 'elite' Catholic high schools and then got great scholarships at selective private universities where they did well. I give STM some credit for preparing them. Were there teachers that were on the cold side? Yes. Were there teachers that wanted to beat my children? At least one. Were some teachers behind the technology curve. Yes. Was Catholic uptightness prevalent? Yes. There were also very good, caring teachers who made an extra effort to help the kids as individuals. They all had their own style. And, there are plenty of parents who expect the school to do their work for them and who have unrealistic expectations. I heard many complaints from parents and my own wife that I thought were unwarranted. 'Excellent' may be too high of a rating. My daughter rates it 'Very Good'.

Leadership is everything and sets the tone for the school in a positive manner. We've enjoyed the school for 7 years and think that any reasonable person knows that issues occur everywhere; but the staff, teachers, and children are at their best when they are a member of the St. Thomas More Community. I will be responsible..I will be caring..this is who we are; this is how we act even when no one is looking.

I love this school!!!! My children have gone to this school for three years, and have learned a great deal. My oldest daughter attended Walzem Elementary for two years with a very poor outcome. The classes are small. The teachers are well educated, and love their students. The staff all care about the parents and students. It is a very warm atmosphere. The parents are involved in their childrens education, and know one another. Most students start off in Pre-K and stay until 8th grade. It is a very close community. Only one class per grade level. My children are crying because we are moving, and they will no longer be able to attend this school.

One difficulty is that decisions are made about principals and teachers, without parents or students ever knowing why. Frequently, it seems the one you like best, that are innovative and breathe 'life' into the school that they seem to let go. On a positive side, there are small class sizes, the kids wear uniforms (less competition and fighting over appropriate clothing, and they supervise the kids closely. I would NOT describe it as one big happy family though. There seems to be some in-fighting among the staff and while some of the newer teachers are very good and seem to enjoy and encourage the students and the profession of teaching, others seem tired, irritable, and as if they do not like students (or children) at all. Thank heavens the principal helps set a positive tone, but it seems that is changing.
