What I truly appreciate about this school is their genuine focus on each childs growth and learning journey. They provide consistent feedback and maintain open, transparent communication with parents whenever a child may need additional guidance, support in specific subjects, or development in areas such as behavior and manners.

As the Principal of St. Joseph Catholic Academy, I proudly rate our campus 4 out of 5 stars, as we continuously strive for improvement each day. Although this is my first year as principal, I bring 24 years of experience in education. Our dedicated staff genuinely cares about the growth of our students, and we are fortunate to have supportive parents who love to collaborate with us.

I host monthly "Coffee with the Principal" sessions to connect with our community, share updates, and gather feedback. We are working hard to become a 5-star school, and I am confident we will reach that goal together.

When our son ended up with a head injury while he was at school. They stated he jumped on his sleep mat and hit his head on the window, which is kind strange to me. We had to take him to the emergency room. After careful consideration, we have decided to disenroll him from Pre-K4. The endeavor to shape him into a model student within 30 days has become unduly stressful for us. Our son's well-being and educational development and safety are our biggest concerns. We refuse to hold him in an environment where it's causing an individual to dislike his presence. While he may be challenging at times, we understand that such behavior is not uncommon for a four-year-old. Some teachers are not certified and have little experience in the classroom. The school cares more for indoctrinating children rather than educating the whole child. Many teachers (even those with experience) lack the ability to deal with students with even slight behavior problems. Referrals will be written and you might not know about it until you have several in front of you at a conference. I have my doubts with this school and I desperately dont want anyone to be led astray by them. There are some serious systematic problems regarding how discipline is handled and expectations of students. Please do your research. You can look up certifications on the TEA website.

Ideally, preschool enrollment should help children prepare for kindergarten, or so I thought. Unfortunately, my experience with this school was a nightmare. It felt as though I had given birth to a little monster. Every day, the teacher complained about my son's behavior, saying he was running around, not sharing, jumping, and more. One day, we were asked to pick him up early, which was extremely stressful. We later met with his teacher and the principal to discuss a plan of action. Right away, I sensed an unsettling vibe from the kindergarten teacher. She claimed she was trying her best to help our son adjust, but stated that other kids also needed her attention. She also suggested we seek help from our physician regarding his behavior. Keep in mind that my son had attended daycare without any behavioral issues. My husband made an appointment with the doctor, who assured him that our son was perfectly fine and simply acting his age. While I was searching for a new school, we found one that reassured us about their staff's expertise. They informed us that their teachers had over 18 years of experience and that we wouldnt encounter the same problems we faced before. I am pleased to say they did not disappoint. My son enjoys going to school; we no longer have to bribe him. He has received a star every day for exhibiting great behavior without needing any redirection. One day, the school even allowed parents to come in and observe for a moment, and my son sat quietly like a pro. I truly believe the previous teacher was not equipped to handle kindergarten. The way she spoke about my child in front of me revealed a palpable dislike. Consequently, I removed my son from that toxic environment. Now, he is thriving in his new school, and his new teacher is wonderful!

Excellent school with teachers that care for their students. They provide a safe environment and have zero tolerance for any bullying or miss treating of their students. The school also puts education first which I appreciate.

cannot speak on what other peoples experience will be with this school. My issue is that everyday I picked up my 3year old son from school, his face was covered in food and snot. I would ask the teacher to give him a napkin to clean his face but the problem never got resolve.

I think I had enough when I picked him up and his pants were on backwards, his shoes on the wrong feet, his face covered in snot and his underwear showing in the back because the pants was not zipped or button.

According to the teacher, they do not take this kids to the bathroom if they have an accident. The 3 year old needs to be able to change their own clothes. Understandable, but I still felt like she needed to be attentive to help him see that he is not presentable. I emailed the faculty and got no response. I spoke with the vice principal and she was nonchalant about the issue and stated that her daughter comes home with food on her clothes regularly.

I am a grandparent who had high hopes of my grandchild getting a Catholic education with its roots in love and Christian ideals. I was shocked at the visible name calling, shunning, and harsh discipline exhibited by the students, faculty, and staff. My grandchild would come home sad and frequently told me his teacher didnt like him. It broke my heart and hope the experience hasnt done anything to drive the family away from the Church.

St. Joseph's is a wonderful school with excellent teachers. The school is small and the students are still able to have pe, art, music, computer, library and Spanish. My children are thriving academically and are eager to go to school every day. It is wonderful to be a part of the St. Joseph's family.

The teachers & staff in general go above and beyond to ensure all students & their families feel at home. The curriculum is above and beyond what I have experienced with the public schools in the area. I couldn't be happier with my daughters three years at St Joseph's school

My children's teachers, stay after school everyday, they keep in touch with us via email, if there is any issue or even improvement in our children. We also have their telephone numbers, if we need anything. Their wonderful.

Both my daughter and son go to this school. I am not from this area, and I miss my home in Dallas. But b/c of this school, I'm going to stay here. All of the staff, including the cafeteria ladies, to the principal to the teachers are all WONDERFUL. They love my children and my children love them. And I wouldn't change it for the world.

My oldest son, a brilliant young man attended this school from 5th to six grade.
At this time, my son was an ADHD student. This faculty and staff at St. Joseph School really took special time to include him in all honors programs, as well as special needs training programs.
Fortunately, I built a hous within walking distance to the school so he learned much about independence and responsibility.
I can honestly say they really took care of my son while I deployed nearly 3/4 of my tour at Ft. Hood.
The class size back then was 8:1 student to teacher ratio.
My son was an avid Tea-Kwon-Do student with Tiger Lim Academy. Believe it or not, he loved singing in the chior and has become a lyracist and decent Hip Hop artist.
too bad the program ended in the 6th grade- Pre K-through 12 would have been wonderful for that huge Ft Hood population of Catholics!

My daughter has attended Saint Joseph's school Killeen for three years now. The teachers and staff go above and beyond to create a friendly and family oriented atmosphere throughout the daily activities. The small class sizes are wonderful allowing so much opportunity for one on one interactions with each student from the teachers. The curriculum seems to be above and beyond the local public school standards plus the Catholic faith is intertwined within everything to increase not only intelligence but spiritual growth. This school is wonderful and I would highly reccomend it to anyone wishing to watch their child grow intellectually and spiritual. I only wish they went beyond sixth grade, Temple is the closest Catholic school I am aware of for seventh grade and above.

This school year is bringing a lot of promise with the new Father. The school has become a priority and you can tell from the teachers and staff excitement. A new PTC leader, new teachers who are stepping up and taking care of many things overlooked prior. The school is going in the right track and has the potential to become the best in the area. Class sizes are 10-12 students. Tuition is reasonable and monthly payment plans are available.

Some days it will be a little more than public schools but these children are accelerated and still do religious studies in addition. Most grades also still have choir which is wonderful.

Faith based education focuses on the core values in children, lessons plans are also integrated to focus on children being upstanding citizens. The pledge of allegiance and prayers are part of daily ritual.

Children are held to higher standards than public school. They have character education daily. There is a new principal and a new pastor . The School is making many upgrades and positive changes.

St Joseph has quickly gone downhill and the 50% drop in enrollment over one year is a great indication of the decline of the school. The problems exist from the top leadership down to the classroom level. The school is run by a retired principal who does not have the modern capability to effectively run the school. The majority of the teachers are the friends of the principal who have come out of retirement for "easy extra money". Fundraising and begging are a priority over the education of the children. One school term an entire grade level did not receive report cards or have any assessments. In addition, the restrooms are always out if repair and there is mold in the school.

My child has been attending St Joseph since pre-k. I am pleased with the discipline and structure the school enforces. The teachers have been caring, attentive and focus on character building. They teach children to think through their actions and decisions and take responsibility for consequences in both social and academic settings. They truly aspire to their mission statement and encourage children to live up to their Tiger traits. I would like to see more productive use of on-line tools. It would also be nice if more research was done into ways the school could obtain funding from federal programs and results were posted through school website.

I thought this would be a great place for my children, but I was wrong. To sum it all up at once my children are now in a different catholic school down the road and they are behind on everything. I hate to say it but i really just wasted money send my children here. They would have learned more at a public school. If I could give no stars i would.

Great Catholic School. It doesn't get any better than this. Teachers are caring, loving and very devout. This school is a great value and I recommend it to everyone. I cannot wait until my grandchild is old enough to enroll her.
