This educational institution showcases a regrettable display of racism. It is imperative for us to foster an environment that promotes cultural understanding and inclusivity, rather than perpetuating the harmful practice of segregating individuals based on their skin color. This has undoubtedly been an extremely distressing experience. The conduct of the principal towards me has been highly disappointing, lacking the qualities of a respectable individual. Furthermore, it is disheartening to witness the school's tolerance of bullying among students, fueled by discriminatory attitudes. The collaboration between the school and parents appears to be lacking, which has had a detrimental impact on the quality of education provided.

Both of my daughters went to St Marys and Im glad I made the decision to remove them . I agree with the other reviews the teachers arent friendly and at times are too busy disciplining over trivial occurrences than teaching fundamentals (ie: my 5 yo was made to walk laps because she touched mulch outside and I was reprimanded by a teacher because I stopped my daughter after mass was over to tell her hello) . I chose the school for the smaller classroom sizes but it doesnt measure up academically and in addition the teachers arent warm and are down right odd at times . I wouldnt recommend the facility to others especially to pay for mediocre and unfriendly educators.

St. Mary's is a great place for my kids. The leadership is caring. Academic standards are high. Students who have graduated talk about being far better prepared academically for high school than their public school counterparts. Teachers care for and challenge students. My child's junior high teachers often drop by during after school care to check on them and find out if they need help with homework. Faith and service are both a big part of it. Service projects are left up to the child to follow a personal interest. The electives they have are gym, Spanish, art, music and technology. They have after school clubs. There are competitive sports, a soccer program, orchestra, chess, musical theater, engineering and robotics, and service club. We're very happy with the well-rounded quality of education here.

I felt the need to write this review to state a different experience than some previous reviewers. Certainly things change from year-to-year, but right now I can think of 6 current teachers whose kids attend the school (some of those have for several years now) and 2 whose grandkids do. Also, the teachers at St. Mary are highly qualified. In fact, at least 6 of the current teachers have Master's degrees. I have heard stories from other parents over the years of students leaving for public school but returning to St. Mary the next year because they were not challenged in the public school. Also, graduates have reported back that they were very well prepared to be successful in AP classes at local high schools. It is family-focused and welcomes parent involvement inside and outside the classroom. The small class size is a huge plus, and the teachers are always available to parents and responsive via email or phone. The school isn't perfect and isn't the right fit for every family, but I didn't want people considering it to be discouraged by some comments that may be uninformed or out-of-date. I encourage you to visit the school and find out for yourself if it provides what you are looking for your child!

There was too little teaching and too much copy work, busy work, rote memorization and look at the example and do the rest on your own type of work. Students are over-critiqued, over-graded and undertaught leading to stress and unhappiness. Then the unnecessary amount of homework and ineffective tutoring creates a very poor use of the kids time. Finally, several teachers do indeed seem unhappy all the time, never cracking a smile, and yelling a lot according to my student. These are generally really good kids, theres no reason for teachers to have such punitive critical over controlling behavior toward them. The principal is so positive and upbeat but the experience in some of the classrooms couldnt be more opposite. Im glad we made a change, the school wasnt working for us.

This school is not up to par as compared to public school.
The teachers are also under qualified in many cases.
They don't have near the amount of electives, either.
Academically they are behind what the public schools are doing in all subjects except maybe grammar and spelling.
Ironically, almost all teachers who have kids of their own who would be of age to attend there, DON'T. They all send their kids to public school. Didn't bode well for me.

I was not happy with the caliber of teachers at this school. The administrator said the right things but did not follow through with her promises.

Great environment for learning.Very loving and nurturing, teaching good values and focused education. A little under staffed, but they make the best of it. My daughter is in her 3rd year of attendance and is very happy there.

The teachers were not supportive. They seemed angry at the kids most of the time.

Extremely poorly run school. They proport to be more rigorous than public school but after several years of attending school there my child went to public and was grossly behind academically, even though they had all A's at St. Mary.
There is very high turnover among the teachers each year.
I have witnessed teachers being physically rough with their students. They also seem to yell a lot.
There has been a lot of turnover in administrators these past few years which has been frustrating.
Overall it just didn't feel like the Christian environment I'd hoped for. And the academics were greatly lacking.

St. Mary is a great place. The class sizes are small, the children are happy, and the teachers are loving. They have had an administration change recently, but the staff handled it with grace. If you are searching for a small, Catholic environment this just might be the place. The atmosphere feels very warm, especially during the morning prayer service every day. Parents are welcomed in a way that public schools can't match. It's a great feeling.

Great school. My child is an A student and is so much more intelligent than kids his own age and older.

This school discriminated my boy because of our migratory status. They only accept children with social security cards and we have an exchange visitor status because I'm a physician in training and they, being called "catholics" don't take that "type" of people as my boy, who by the way is an excellent student and human being. I hope one day they receive the forgiveness from heaven and justice for discriminating honest people.
