Again, the mentoring approach, development of leaders and core belief of respect addresses bullying before it starts.

Excellent environment to teach your children to love learning, equip them with the skills to succeed and prepare them to transition to any learning environment, whether they eventually matriculate into public, private or prep.

Montessori schools don't send home work in the early education levels (toddler, lower elementary and upper elementary).

The teachers are certified by AMS and track each students mastery of materials; they continue to challenge each student to the best of his/her ability and there is no limit to how much can learn. I have a 1st grader doing multiplication of 6-digit numbers, reading at a 5th grade level and learning cursive.

Respect yourself, others and your environment (home, classroom, workplace) -- it is a core belief of HCMS and all accredited Montessori schools. Students are treated with respect and they mirror that behavior with each other.

Montessori uses a multi-year classroom approach: Primary is ages 3-6, Lower Elementary is 6-9 and Upper Elementary is 9-12. That allows each student to be mentored by the more experienced members of his/her class as well as get an opportunity to develop leadership qualities as they mentor their younger classmates.

Montessori allows for a certain degree of customized learning plans. If a student struggles in one subject because they lack development in that area, the lesson plans can be adjusted to help the student master areas of need. And some learning challenges can benefit from the way the Montessori classroom favors movement and self-direction. Having said that, this is not a school designed for special needs students.

We have been there for two years now, and our child has flourished much more than I could have anticipated in this environment. We are beyond happy with our experience at Hill Country Montessori.

Everything about Montessori education, and this school in particular, is focused on teaching the whole child, as well as respect, compassion, and peace. Lessons are individualized and allow the child to work at their pace, providing for a greater impact and retention. I cannot say enough about what the school did for my child as a student, and myself as a parent and my parenting style. Thank you! I highly recommend this school

They believe that most of their work should be completed at school and that after school is family time.

They are all very caring and have extensive Montessori training and experience.

This is one of my favorite things about the school--the life skills that my boys ended up with after completing the program (age 3-middle school). They are honest, caring, kind and respectful of the environment.

Everyone at this school cares about the kids and has a passion for Montessori learning.

I had quick learners and slow learners and ALL of them were successful at Hill Country Montessori because the method allows for differences in a child's ability to learn. Amazing!

There is NO bullying at HCMS because differences are celebrated and valued among the kids.

Fantastic! We are so thankful to have found HCMS for our children. It has been a wonderful experience and our sons have now successfully transitioned to high school and college...still using their life skills learned at Hill Country Montessori school.

We have had such positive experiences with both of our teachers at HCMS and we are so happy with our kid's progress. Our 4 year old has started to read this year and our 2 year old can sing the alphabet song and count to 14! That's pretty awesome in our book!

HCMS has peace tables in most of the class rooms which encourages the kids to meet at the table and discuss issues they're having with each other. What amazing skills to learn at such young ages!

We LOVE HCMS and are so happy to have both of our kids here! It's safe and we love both of their teachers. We would recommend HCMS to anyone and everyone!

We have two children at HCMS and we honestly couldn't be happier with our whole experience. The toddler teacher, Ms Teri is the BEST teacher and she has been at HCMS forever. She is super intelligent, extremely patient and very honest with the parents. She has helped us transition both kids both in school and at home. For example, with potty training, getting rid of pacis and with normal baby milestones. The campus is a secure closed campus (you must be buzzed in by the office to enter the property) and it gives us total peace of mind. The other teachers all work together and the whole school functions as a close community. The school starts at 18 months (in the toddler room) and extends up through 8th grade! The new head of school (as of 2015) is a super great guy and he is already well loved by everyone. We honestly couldn't be happier at HCMS and we would recommend it to everyone in Boerne looking for a school for their kids (not a daycare).

This is the best kept secret in the Boerne area. Well, it's not really a secret as the school has been around for over thirty years and consistently wins best private school in Kendall County, but they do fly under the radar. I had no idea what Montessori was about and now that I do, I don't think I could explain it but it is absolutely amazing what this school does for kids. The teachers are required to have College educations and be certified as well as have ongoing professional development. Coming from a standards based background, I know how important this is along with the accreditations they have. We also looked into other private schools in the area who let anyone with a pulse teach. They have second graders doing fractions and fifth graders testing at college level. It was unsettling the first time I chaperoned a field trip of fourth and fifth graders and they all acted with grace and courtesy and the conversations were like talking to an adult about art and social issues. The academics, staff, campus, everything is top notch. I'm sorry that we will be moving away from the school; it will be hard to find another one like it.

This is an amazing school. There is a great sense of community and a focus on the child's overall development as a person as well as their education. All of our kids have been here for several years and I can't say enough about the Montessori method and how well this school implements it. Communication with the parents is excellent. The staff are all well trained and certified with ongoing professional development. This is one of the few schools in Texas and the only one in the San Antonio area that is actually certified by the American Montessori Society. Any issues that parents have are dealt with in a direct, open way. We are lucky to have found this great school in our own backyard!
